rare records? ;-) I just checked and the train-ride'll cost me 14.50 euro's... which is alot i think, but still... it'll be worth it. The chance of ever finding ANY autechre where i live is practically zero... let alone the rare stuff. For once i'd like to go to a store where they actually have alot of idm in stock. If i'm able to finnish work early enough tomorrow-morning, maybe i'll go tomorrow-afternoon. Oh and that's great about the LP5 morton! Nice find :-) Congratiulations! |

no they only had the blank LP5 at rare :( this one i ordered at Jake's (also in Ehv) but indeed i would recommend Rare (Bullit also but def. Rare) in Ehv they just have a special box with only warp-artists squarep. BoC AE aphex etc. and other stuff good luck , you'll like it i think, (it's not very easy to find but i gave you the adresses ey?) |

And a box with all warp-artists sounds too good to be true :-D I'm positive i'll like it! |

ow if you sign up at the raresite you can also look online what's in stock and so.. but i don't know if you already have to be a customer in the store.. i think so i mailed them that i wanted to log in on rare-records, i took a couple of days, but they mailed me back, with an code to log in not very fast though i'm sure you'll buy some stuff there ;) it was heaven for me :D |

What's the story with the rare LP5? Mine's in a plain back jewel-case, but it's just the crappy version that Nothing put out in the USA. |

they released LP5 in a black jewelcase, but after a while they did a rerelease, and that jewelcase was just blank i definately wanted the black one, but everywhere i looked and ordered i got an blank one (also at bol.com they sent me the one with the blank case, i just sent it back and wrote "people i need the black one") i just ordered LP5 at some recordstores here and said beforehand that i only would take it if it was black, they agreed otherwise they'd just lay 'em in the shop and today they called me: "we've got LP5 for you" and i thought, it'll be a blank one again ~> but it was black!!! hooray hooray hooray!!! |

hm yes... i got the impression you were only allowed to sign up for the site if you were a regular costumer at the store... weird... (because it seems to me regular costumers don't really need to order things ;-) They can just buy them right away whenever they regularly visit the store...). But ohwell... it doesn't matter. The only autechre i've ever seen in a recordstore is confield and gantz graf. I already bought gantz graf... but i don't want confield to be my first proper ae-album. I think i'll probably buy a couple of ae-albums there :-) And some plaid, and some squarepusher... and some aphex twin, and... and... lol... it's a good thing i saved up some money ;-) And about LP5... is it just a plain black jewelcase? With no other artwork? Because you can probably just buy seperate black jewelcases in any computer-store ;-) (or any other color). But still i understand you... i just love limited editions of albums, and stuff that is otherwise rare or hard to find. It just feels so great to have a couple of those in your recordcollection :-) |

no it's not 'just a black case' it has 'autechre' printed in the plastic of the case on the front, and 'ae' printed in the case at the back it was definately worth the search in the shops :) |

same with EP7 but then the plastic is blank.. but now i see EP7 in the shops with normal jewelcases :( if i were you i'd search for these special cases for EP7 and LP5, all the others CD of AE have normal jewelcases.. btw LP5 only has a white paper inside with ONLY the tracks, no other words! and the CD itself has no print at all, just like AB3-aphex pretty cool :) |

oh... that sounds kinda cool actually :-) I'd like to have those editions too. But still... if they have that album with the normal cover... i don't know if i'll be able to resist just buying it... finding those rare covers sounds like alot of hard work. |

i saw LP5 and EP7 there some days ago.. but not with the cool cases (did you see it at the 'check it out' link?) just go and look.. you must not expect walls of CD's there they mainly sell vinyl, but have a lot CD's too, the only three boxes i only look in are on the right side in the back of the shop (it isn't very big).. i hope you'll find some nice stuff.. really hope they have a lot in stock when you come, it differs but i'm sure you can spend your budget.. there'll be no pennies left when you've left the shop mr. surrounded be aware of that ;) |

yeah i saw it at the link... but i imagine it looks better in real life :-) I'm using my imagination to imagine the work "autechre" actually printed on the plastic :-p Sounds like i should probably decide beforehand how much i want to spend maximum ;-) Otherwise i'll get in financial troubles... yeah bullit is near Rare, you should go there as well, difference is that Rare is specialized in electronic music, and Bullit is just a big CD-shop but has some boxes (hoe noem je verdomme een 'bak' in 't engels, ik bedoel dus gewoon zo'n CD-bak met 'box') with "electronics" (on the left at the back of the shop) they have some rephlex and warp stuff, not that much though you can order almost anything there, i got many afx stuff from bullit, but the amount they have in stock really differs but it's worth to take a look in the center of Ehv is also Jake's (music store) they sometimes have good stuff (got my LP5 there today :)) .. also AE-amber and some plaid and björk but i'd first visit rare and bullit if i were you, then you can always see how much money's left.. :) good luck, let me know what you got :) |

i have blank frosty case lp5, i removed the sticker on the back because it was getting damaged. it is a packaging to touch more than to look at... and it expresses well the music methinks :) only thing wrong with it is that it looks like a ripped cd-r on the side ' _ ' |

yeah, it is not that amazing... some of the transitions between the tracks are pretentious and boring, and acroyear2, even if it's one of the best tracks, could have been mixed a better way imo (i had it in mp3 before and it actually sounded better than on the cd! because of the melody, was louder...). but still, very good. |

hehe, yeah i really wish i was! I see on my clock that it's 17:06... just after closing time... i would have been standing there with lots of great cd's in my pockets probably :-D But sadly things were really crazy at work (if you didn't know, i work parttime as a mailman...xmastime is a really hectic period for the tpg). Normally on saturdays i can go home before noon. And i had planned that the latest train i would catch to eindhoven would have to be the one leaving at 1 o'clock (which would mean i'm in eindhoven at 3 o'clock)... otherwise i don't think i'd have enough time. But i wasn't even done working at 1 :-/ So sadly my little trip will have to wait :'( Now my first opportunity to go will be next friday... i hope that will work out better than today :-D |

hahaha yeah i remember that episode.. the raresite is a bit vague IMO, first you have to enter some word at that Rareweb (for me that word is rareWEB02) and then you have to enter you name and code.. after that you can search in the upper-right corner.. but i'm sure you'll find that out yourself.. why am i telling all this? :P :D :P |

the rare-site seems a bit unfinnished to me. The design is a mess, and it's hard to find anything at all ;-) But still... their list of available cd's is impressive :-D George likes it! The webmaster (or whoever it is that's replying to my mail) seems really enthusiastic. He sent me another mail a few hours later. In my original mail i had named a couple of cd's i was looking for... 5 of them are in stock at this moment. 4 of them have been ordered and will be in stock shortly and just 2 of them were unavaiable... nice :-D He wrote they're also willing to send me the cd's... (since they're in the netherlands i can probably just write the $$$ directly to their bankaccount... no creditcard involved)... the costs for mailing the cd's will probably be cheaper than a train-ticket :-p But i haven't made up my mind yet... because on the other hand i'd also probably have a good time just walking around that store... ;-) |
