I have his last two records. Sort of a grim fellow.. His
music makes me want to get drunk and cry. And that voice!
Does he have a tracheotomy? Sounds like he eats a shovel
full of gravel for breakfast each morning.

I just downloaded 'Earth Died Screaming' : What a great
song! This is the best thing I've heard in the last 6
months. It makes me want to get high and look at a cow
skull.

he actually got it from smoking a ton of cigs and drinking
heavily.

If that only worked for EVERYONE.......

if you like "earth died screaming", get the rest of that
album - all the songs are kind of clanky like that: "bone
machine".
nice Ramones cover on there too.

I would also recommend "Franks wild years" - the first of
the music-theatre productions he did -- some incredible
songs on there ("temptation" - all time fave of mine)..

Frank's wild years is also one of my favorite Tom Waits
records...i highly recommend it.

His work can be roughly divided into two periods, a
jazz/beatnik influenced period, and a period were thing get
a little crazier and darker. This dark period starts with
the record Swordfishtrombones...check that one as
well...it's awesome.

Thanks, I'll pick both of those albums up today.
Swordfishtrombones was a collaboration with William
Burroughs wasn't it?
