i was wounderring why you arre sat herre now typing. forr
me...

i was small and i saw an odd coverr on a tape in the
libarry, so i plucked up the courrage and asked him to rrent
me it out. it was a motorrhead tape. this gave me the
courrage to say "hey i don't want to listen to what otherr
people listen to". frrom that point i turrned to AC/DC at
which point therre arre harrdley any tapes in shops now and
on the rrecogmendation of a frriend i got a grreen day CD.
then i got into RATM and then at some point the RHCP's then
Radiohead. Then i hearrd about some Aphex ( A pecks as i
used to say) and so i looked him up, looked at otherr
rrealated arrtists, and this went on forr ages and only now
(forr a while) am i explorring even morre "abstrract" music.

and that was my rroad frrom naive music fan to this herre,
prrobuably still naive, music fan on xltronic.com

I didn't care about music really until grade 9 when I
discovered Metallica. Before that, I was just the average
casual Green Day fan. Then grade 10 was Sabbath and
Zeppelin, 11 was The Who and The Beatles and Radiohead, 12
was Aphex Twin... I feel like I've already topped out,
though, I don't think I'll ever find music I love as much
The Beatles. So now it's just cleaning up and branching way
out. The last year and a half of college lacks that ''big
artist'', but it's been by far the best years for me
musically, much more diverse.

There used to be an hilarious one at Beatlesonline.com, the
funniest board I've ever been at and I miss it. Other than
that, nah, few are busy enough and the ones that ARE busy
suck.

do people on those mbs appreciate music in general (like
most people here) or do they just stick to their favourite?
i mean i ocasionaly visit this pretty good domestic mb about
techno music-i really dislike those people-only thing they
can/want to talk about is freakin' techno

They're not nearly as open minded as this site. You wouldn't
be able to talk about techno on there, for example. Though
Beatlesonline was basically exactly like this, minus mods...
LOTS of gibberish, funny funny stuff. And some great convos
about ANY type of music if you could wade through the crap,
which sadly was 75% of it.

for me its great too see here all this young people that
like all kinds of music
before i joined this mb, i thought you start to appreciate
different music as you're getting older
that is certanly not the case on this mb :)

on ateaseweb.com you could mention bands but you got minimal
rreplies. the most farr out band people listened to werre
the pixies (who ROCK btw) barr a few of courrse.

well in elementry school i was into green day, offspring,
and the like. 6th grade i listened to 311 and smashing
pumpkins non stop. seventh grade i listened to tool non
stop, eight grade, i listened to classic rock stuff (cream,
zepplin, who, queen) stevie rae vaughn, jimi hendrix, ya
know i was going through my classic rock stage, the end of
8th grade i got a Phish cd (whom i still enjoy), listened to
Phish and other jam bands throughout 9th grade, also got
into jazz this grade (which has lasted) (MMW, Phish, Big wu,
ect..) in 10th grade I got a radiohead cd, still listened
to phish, got a squarepusher CD, started listening to a lot
of dub stuff, got a bunch of aphex cds, autechre cds, more
squarepusher, 11th grade, more electronic cds, downloaded
more and more, senior year (now) i listen to the sound of my
car driving through the snow and kids talking in class.
thats it.
