Yes- they're called "expert systems" some UK university just made one that generates murder mysteries. The results are meant to be quite diverse...

I've heard of freeware programs that generate more or less random stuff. I have no idea where you might find... oh yes on the Internet.

I've been looking for random-text generators for a long time - can't find them. only thing I found was a program that makes random poetry - only you couldn't input your own sentences, which is what I would like to be able to do.
I'm more looking for a kind of a 'babbler'-program - you give it some sentences, some words and it makes up random sentences. can't find it, though.. :(
