hmm portishead, massive attack and tricky are the masters of course
its funny, trip hop is one of those genres that all the artists involved in making it completely reject the title 'trip hop'
i used to be able to list a whole bunch.. i cant at the moment though.. i will if i think of any

Yeah Trip Hop that whole thing seems to have died a death. Ninja Tunes are probably the kings of the Hip Hop beat. Don't know can't remember too much really. I'm sure there was some cool stuff.
Portishead were on the Radio doing some new stuff sounded good but its funny they haven't moved on. I think they'll have a hard time trying to achieve the sort of success again they had in the past.

yeah.. just check out the labels mo'wax and ninja tune, they're pretty much dedicated to the genre.. though ninja tune is a bit more on the acid jazz side.. its not too far off from most trip hop

I heard a bit of Tricky... good stuff, though I'm not really into that genre. Dunno much about it. Ninja Tune, eh? Would Amon Tobin be trip-hoppish?

The first albums by Morcheeba are the best ones, their latest are more pop-oriented.
