Are those RCA jacks on the front? I want something that will
accept 1/4" jacks so I can plug in my guitar and keyboard
propah.

they are... erm... i believe s/pdif digital ins... which can
also be analog if you needeth analog inputs :)

it's a dope ass soundcard... made by Terratec... model # is
the EWS88MT

if you need 1/4'' inputs though... i'd recommend getting the
erm... MAUDIO the rack mount 8 in/8 out w/ a pci card for
connecting everything... i do believe it comes with some
recording package too :) not bad eh? how much you looking to
spend?

I could drop a fair piece of money on something with good
analog in/out and low latency midi. Anything, almost, would
be better than this suckulent SB Live.

I figure I better get some good non-DRM hardware while I
still can. :D

cheers Quoth - you should get the Terratec Xfire 24/96
instead...it's cheaper and more usefull for musicmakers

if youre using a creative card the kx drivers from
www.kxproject.com can extend the life of it for a while
until you can afford a new one, i use them myself and theyre
really good
can get 2.66 ms asio latency

Interesting! I will give them a go. Unfortunately most of
the reason my SB live is ass is probably due to hardware.
It's noisy and shit, and the analog I/O sucks koala wango.

hmm, try the drivers, the analogue io is pretty shitty on
the card but as for any noise youre experiencing, you
shouldnt get any with them
luckily my dad had an external digital -> analogue convertor
so I just stole it and I use that with my card, its no
m-audio delta card but its better than a built in ess poop

Haha ESS aaaah the memories. I was just so excited my
compyoota could make noise! Even horrible FM synthesis
general midi. I used the banjo patch for guitar, etc etc.

Then I discovered a software wavtable synth called Wingroove
and stayed up all night doing silly things in Cakewalk.

Sadly, now that I can afford decent gear I have no time to
use it... :-(

yea I was really psyched as well, started messing with
breaks in cool edit pro and then doing loop stuff in mixman,
inspector gadget tunes and stuff

***BIG UP ESS KRU***
