Mickey Mouse,

Its good that you've got an idealistic view on the World.
Now lets get back to reality eh. Celebs etc are nobodies
anyway and yeah of course they are egomaniacs so you've had
a few pleasant experiences with them big deal. Of course
they can be nice and I do admire your innocent boldness.
However personally I wouldn't have the time to demean myself
sucking up to some actor or artist. I don't disrespect,
don't dislike or like them but I know this I am not going to
demean myself speaking to someone like that in the street
and expose myself in a weak position because like it or not
that is exactly what they would perceive you as, that is
some 'silly fan'. Its fine though if you want to feel a
nobody in front of those people thats ok.

If you’re so keen to speak to some celeb or artist or
whatever get an introduction through a mutual friend, but
for goodness sake have a reason to speak to them, otherwise
it'll be a painful experience.

"I wouldn't have the time to demean myself

naah you dont have to suck up, just be nice and be yourself.

Speaking to people is not something everyone is good at,
because if your a talented speaker you can walk up to anyone
and hit it off.

And hence the reason Words buddy got yelled at.

yeah,.. if I'm ever going somewhere by train at night, and I
see a dodgy looking "could be" mugger, I immediately say hi
and act friendly, I've heard (and I beleive) that this
reduces the risk of them trying to mug you, I also once met
an avid aphex fan on a train too, he was a bit weird
though,.. so I didn't ask for his contact details

Mickey Mouse,

Its not the point I'm making. People (artists and actors)
have their own agendas and I just wouldn't want to belittle
myself speaking to someone like that in the street for them
to possible be rude. In a different social setting (like a
party) it would perfectly acceptable. Of course if you have
a lot of confidence you can carry off initial meetings with
people very well. You have to be practised, know the right
lines etc and know when to make an exit because believe or
not I wouldn't want someone getting the upperhand. They may
appreciate you speaking to them but equally they wont have
much respect for you, if you come up to them in the street
as some ‘nobody fan’. As I've said above in the right
setting it would be different.

Yeah if someone is rude to me 'I say stuff them'. And as I
mentioned in a previous post it costs nothing to be pleasant
but I wont be pleasant forever. If someone is arrogant then
I'll just give them the same back. To conclude I would have
no reason to speak to Aphex or anyone else. As mentioned in
a previous post I would see it was such and such in the
street and say to myself oh thats interesting and move on
with my own business.

I owuldn never be all lik e"omg omg it's afx can i likc your
undies" or anything.

I'd be all like "Hey dude! Laughable Butane bob fucking
owns, man nice one!"
If I was *sure* it was him.

I think there shouldn't be an excuse to be all like "Fuck
you fuck off" etc fi youre famous, coz the people who come
up to you are yuor fans, they buy your rekkids and yr
merchandise and make websites to spread your music around
and shit. You're livnig offa them. Shitting on them is
totally biting the hand that feeds you.

I promise that if I ever got to be famous for anything, I
would totally make time for people who are into my shit and
always shaks hands and say a quick "thanks a lot, man, glad
youre ito it" and smile and shit, coz I mean how much would
it take out of your day to smile and say thanks. About three
seconds max. I think we cold all spare three seconds for a
fan that says somethign nice ni the street. (this is
hypothetical coz we all know it aint gonna happen, i just
think it's the way it should be).

If I ever saw rdj on the street or somewhere, I'de rip my
shirt off and run at him as fast as I could, screaming and
waving my arms in the air... I would then proceed to tackle
him and start humping his leg and licking his face profusely

I met him in a bar in London once... he was hanging out and
just chatting to people and was very friendly to me and to
anyone else who struck up a conversation with him.. then
again, he did look pissed at the time

(I mean pissed in the british sense of the word, not the
america)

the entire band drove by me and my friend in a white van
when we were sitting around waiting for our ride at a
cancelled outdoors radiohead show last summer... i bet if
they knew we were fans they woulda stopped. since everyone
else had gone home hours ago (our ride didn't answer the
phone) and we were sitting in the area where people were
deconstructing the venue, they prolly figured we just worked
there.

titsworth,

I'm not saying you guys aren't worthy of talking to rdj, far
from it. I think people are but I just think certain
scenarios like walking up to someone in the street, I
wouldn't do that. If you want to speak to him fine, I just
wouldn't 'cause:

1. I'm not interested.
2. He'd mostly likely wouldn't appreciate it (even though
people are right he ought to be pleasant because we
essentially are his paymasters).

Probably in a bar isn't so bad especially if he's had a few.
I've seen him a lot of times in London but I've never had
the urge to speak to him. Its different if someone like him
comes up to me and initiates conversation, fine I'll be
pleasant etc. Anyway thats all I'm gonna say now, its to
hard to explain these things on a bulletin board.

i see what you mean but you can't live your life not trying.
in addition, "stars" (b.s. term; they're musicians) need to
get over themselves (goon is a pretty good example of how to
be a friendly and polite popular idm artist).

there's no guaruntee someone will act a certain way, so you
just have to go for it. sometimes it works out just fine.
and if they're assholes you can just say "you're being an
asshole." if they can be so direct as to tell you to fuck
off, then why not?!

promo, i asked before: are you dj promo?
