Keeping a diary

I recently found some old diaries I occasionally wrote in
when I was younger... some very funny stuff documented from
my yout' but also quite weird reading it now, seeing how I
used to act / think...

Anyone else keep / used to keep a diary?

Yeah it feels too odd for me too,I look back on what I wrote
and cringe.
I still leave depressed notes,in my drawer.I go back and
read them, when i'm happy and laugh.
Its better to talk IMO.

but not everyday... only when i have something to write
down.

yeah, not to replace any human contact, but just as a little
reminder to yourself. Some of it makes me cringe. Some makes
me laugh.

I might start writing one again. It helps you think about
what youre doing every day as well. Like if theres nothing
to write maybe i'd better do something worth writing about!

i have allways written a diary its kinda like talking to
some one who will listen( has no choise) and getting
everything out , and you know that its not going any futher
than that page... its a good way to get things claer in your
head - or remember things ....its odd tho i admit reading
what i have put in the past ...and i noticed the other day
how i put 'cya' at the end of an entry and 'hiya ' at the
begining as if im acctualyl talking to someone ... but it
does help ..

I had severel diaries. I used to have find some empty
schoolbooks so I'd just start writing in them. When I used
to look back on them, like diablo said it made me cringe so
I destroyed them.

Ironically, when I was reading Adrian Mole he once said:
'Why catalogue such misery?". That was one of the things
that forced me to stop.

Last diary I kept it talked back to me about some 'chamber
of secrets' or something so I threw it down the bog

Yeah it WAS that bad. It was basically me bitching about how
bad things were. Didn't help. I was ashamed at some of the
things I wrote.

neetta - that cat is really sweet

and the whole point of a diary is to bitch on about
depressing things , if u read any of my diarys u'd think i
had nothing to live for!you shouldnt have been ashamed , the
whole reason for writing a diary is to get id of all ur bad
feeling and get rid of stress etc so normally when ur
writing ur not too happy , so ur not thinking how u normally
would.of course ur not going to like what u put ,but in the
end it helped.. :D

i don't write diary for a cathartic purpose really...
just to remind myself of memories, of some days i'd like to
remember or some periods when i'm in a particular mood...

i sometimes complete older entries with notes (with another
pen and noticing the date of the added note so i can
distinguish it from the original entry), to see how i and my
feelings "evolve"...
