CD 2 track #6 - "06 Remix By AFX" ???

ok, boring. i've heard all of these tracks already. :(
maybe not "CD2 09 Aphex Twin - SAW2 CD1 TRK2 (Original Mix)"
though!

offline chambre noire from Iceland on 2002-12-04 11:12 [#00467991]

"It includes two previously unreleased Aphex Twin tunes –

‘Windowlicker (Acid Edit)’ and ‘SAW2 CD1 TRK2
(Original Mix)’, a piece taken from the Selected Ambient
Works II era."
ok i'm a dumbass.

Right - that SAW2 track (original mix) must be the beats
version of that SAW2 track from the unreleased Peel Sessions
2.

Don't know about Remix by Aphex or Windowlicker Acid mix
though..

it could be from the video, you know, the music 'the dudes'
plays in their car. it's like this acid'ey hip hop.

offline chambre noire from Iceland on 2002-12-04 12:43 [#00468133]
Points: 2515 Status: Lurker

or maybe the version at the end of the vid when the credit
are rolin'?

offline Joyrex from watmm.com (United States) on 2002-12-04 12:46 [#00468141]

That already appeared on the Japanese version of
Windowlicker and is referred to as the "electro" version, as
well as an early edit of Windowlicker (which I think almost
sounds better than the original). If you can sniff out the
Japanese version, pick it up, you get 5 tracks on it plus
the video if I remember correctly.

No, it already appeared on the japanese version of
Windowlicker, I think.

Windowlicker (End-Roll Version).

I would venture to guess that the SAW2 track is the sped up
version of CD1 Track 2 (the one that appears on the Aphex
Twin Peel Session from 95).

06 Remix By AFX

could be one of the "2 remixes by AFX", that single on MEN
Records

has the title got anything to do with (the majority of)
people downloading mp3s instead of buying CDs nowadays?
(Well that's the case in Germany, for sure)

Like it's giving you a choice. Either you download all the
tracks off soulseek or you give 'em cash and get the cd.

I guess it's about the fact that RDJ always says in his
interview that he only makes remixes for money.

i agree that the remixes are good though

don't expect much from these sounds..

yeah thats kind of what i expected, but i was really
wondering how good they are for sampling and using in some
of my own stuff? Just thought it would be good to be able to
scratch some crazy effects, since the millions of sounds ive
made are on my computer and i cant scratch them (no i dont
have final scratch and the analogx scratch is crap!)

It's a Beepmap. Hidden Data. I got a hacker friend to have a
look at it but he has no idea. If it's not a beepmap it
certainly sounds like encripted data and a lot of people are
trying to decode it. It would be cool if he just made it to
sound like data and all this going on was in vain. }:> Gotta

I've all these remixes on my hard disk (mp3) apart 2 or 3
tracks. I hope that quality audio will be better than my old
mp3 copies.

I'm not so enthusiast anyway I'm happy to buy a new afx
disc.

I kinda like the beats to it

and i'm wondering where i can get the japan version on

There is not a Japanese vinyl version to my knowledge.

The scratching heard in the car is a Luke Vibert
contribution, which was credited in early demo tapes of the
video, but was removed for the final production.
