Did anyone else see/hear about this?

Basically a guy convinced 30 people to give up their lives-
jobs, accomodation, possessions etc. for a year to take part
in a big brother type show, but it transpired there was no
show and he was just a weirdo.

Hard to empathise with all but 2 of the people who got
ripped off. They seemed like the noisy, "positive" morons
who work in PR and Sales...

Switched over from "Hairy Women" documentary on Channel 5 to
watch this, but soon got bored with the attention-seeking
morons so I flicked over to Newsnight.

Yes, but it was funny seeing the attention seeking morons
getting done over by the mad man. I think he was enjoying
it- even at the end. It was so obvious when he was being
interviewed about it when the facade fell away that he was
playing up for the cameras and probably having a laugh to
himself.

Yes and when that big bloke was saying, "To be honest Nick,
I'm trying very hard not to punch you right now, to be
honest..."

Do you reckon the "producer" will get picked up by some TV
channel for some weird "artsy" show about manipulation or
something similair?

The south african woman seemed pretty sensible as did the
guy who left as soon as he found out what the task was. The
others were idiots. It was so funny when they had their own
"reality tv show" and were pretending to beat each other up.
Looked like school children larking about. :)

My boss at an illegal company I worked at was just like the
producer- it was all, Yes you CAN do it- you just need to
think positive, you can achieve anything etc. patently empty
hype etc. to trick dumb people into working for him. Funny
really.

One of those people in cloud cuckoo land. You point out a
practical reason why something simply cannot be done, they
say "You'll find a way, I have faith in you" then they leave
the room. 2 weeks later when whatever it was you warned them
about occurs they have a go at you. Great stuff.

Where I worked at said place, in my first week I couldn't
work out why all the people there were either a)
stupid beyond belief or b) utterly selfish twats. I soon
realised it was because the smart people left, the selfish
ones manipulated the idiotic ones (it was a kind of pyramid
sales system thing, albeit cleverly disguised). I mean,
people were competing for "promotions" that had no
benefits whatsoever- 2 extra hours work- more responsibility
no raise. Just the "rank".

It made me think of the type of culture in Boilerhouse (very
good film about bankers...).

this really sounds like my old working place. thank god i
got out :D

when the employees are ranked with 'loyalty' it only leads
to the idiots being in 'responsible' positions. awful.

it's too much to try to work with idiots who are in higher
position

I reckon he'll end up homeless and people who recognise him
from TV will point and laugh and spit at him.

I saw it--thought it was disappointing--didn't engage my
emotions or my brain at all--I was expecting much more--I
was hoping the black guy would have hit him on camera at the
end, so he could get done--he sounded like a bore and too
serious--they got hoodwinked! big deal--they were duped,
woop-de-doo--they ended up on TV in the end, the
self-serving arses.

HAHAHA! That's hilarious... whatta psycho.

The Simpsons made fun of Reality TV on Sunday... there's
nothing left that they haven't mocked, methinks.
