I have been saving up my money for a wile now. So, I want
to buy technology to make music with. I want to sample
beats, noises, etc from cd's, tapes, records, and minidisc,
and eventually manipulate them to make my own music. My
problem is that I don't know what to buy. Help, anyone.

First of all I'd say you need a program to create your music
with. There's shit loads of great progs, out there. Cubase,
Acid, Reason ... good luck. ^_^

Hey another person from L.A

Neat!

You should get yourself a copy of fruityloops or reason...

then something to record with.. like a minidisc recorder..
dat tape recorder (probubly too expensive...) And that
should suffice, if you have a man get sound edit 16 to edit
your samples in... or on a pc get soundforge...

I hope this helps, welcome

I'd say download demos of a few different programs. If there
aren't demos available there's always Kazaa. (make sure to
use Kazaa lite if you don't want to be infested with spyware
and popup ads, and use a good virus scanner! I recommend
nod32)

I like Cakewalk Sonar for midi. Acid is probably better for
sample-based music.

Not the best sound quality but works for me.
