Just listened to your 3 zebox tracks mr hawk--I liked
bass-recorder 03 and spaz vox a lot--the perkush one I
wasn't so keen on; I much liked the vocal collage (I think
it was a collage) on spaz vox...

What's the deal now with releasing mp3s? Are these side
projects apart from any 'official' releases? Or is this a
statement of support for the mp3 community a la Chuck D? Or
Option C? :)

Anyway, very nice

I like it..quite a bit..the vocals are nice and crazy...and
bassline has a tinge of melancholy..nice...

but what is the story with the drums..are they the cling
film things?..is that the whole sound of the kit..or just a
few hits?

What's this Clingfilm talk, Flea? What is it, apart from
something to wrap sandwiches up in? P)

Dude, Why not set up an mp3.com account and upload your
stuff there? You can pay to have faster uploads and
promotion and make some albums to sell exclusively on
mp3.com

hmm..j-hok had put up this thread about how he made up a
whole little percussion kit made up of pots and pans with
cling film stretched across them which he then miked..and
then he said here's the song using that..and then the link
didnt work and then he started another thread..this
thread...

long story...:)

j-hok, you mentioned that you play bass. my bf does it also;
in fact, that is all he does. but how can i get him to like
'idm'? as another bass player you probably know which
artists have good bass thingies (besides you)

Mr. Squarepusher has nice Bass guitar stuff. I can't think
of any others though...

"music is rotted one note" by square pusher is excellent!
more jazz than "idm" though...

Oh right, so it IS the clingfilm used for wrapping
sandwiches? :D I always used to play pots and pans and
egg-slicers when I was younger--it's fun--maybe GiGi can
record some one-shot hits for us, and share the .wav files;
that would be real neat

thanks for listening guys!

the main beat in perkush isnt cling film - but everyting
else apart from the bass and vocals was made with different
cling film drums

genres are bullshit though - there is good and intereesting
experiments in all genres - idm is the worst genre name ever
as it stinks of musical snobbery - which is just wrong -
when does a piece of music stop being intelligent ?

brilliant stuff! I really like them. And I also like J-Hok's
distribution policy. Let's share the music! Music is for
everyone. If you are into it you should buy it though when
it gets released.
