Capitalism - human nature?

Is capitalism inevitable due to the inherent human need to
improve the individual and perpetuate it genetic
information.

Or is there another way?

Capitalism is almost certainly human nature- a survival
mechanism, hence its popularity with Survivalists and
Fascists.

I'm not so sure...

I think with the advent of truely global society it is
becoming more beneficial to work together to reach our
goals. It is also becoming clear that capitalism will eat
itself... in the not so distant future.

The simply isn't enough money in the world to sustain the
greed of the capitalist population.

I think its not so much our true nature, just exploitation.

Already we're migrating to a happier medium- workers, even
in 3rd world countries are demanding better rights etc. I
can see it leveling out without the need for revoluion.
Capitalism will not go away entirely for a good hundred
years yet...

I don't think that there's pure capitalism anywhere, not
even in the USA...
They still pay tax and they have public services.

The guy has even stated that he makes music for money. He
let a bank use Girl/Boy Song in one of their adverts for
fuck's sake. And he made a fortune from it. Greedy bastard.

but i dont think people should stop their discussions just
because aphex dont care about the subject in question, if
that was the intent with your post.
its not like a thread about someone hugging/kissing/dating a
girl has anything to do with aphex either..

what's this got to do with friendly?

"Is capitalism inevitable due to the inherent human need to
improve the individual and perpetuate it genetic
information"

simply stating my opinion. no, it's not inevitable, it's the
result of individuals response to the pressures of society
which deem it unfashionable or unsociable to rebel or
disagree with the mainstreem opinion of anything. get a
grip, get your own life, your own opinion and stop leading
someone else's life.

well, i can see how you can feel that im trying to piss you
off, but i was actually just trying to question some of your
statements. i was a bit annoyend in what i saw as a "i have
a major in politics, so lets end this now" attitude and i
posted about it. its understandable if it was not to your
liking. atleast i didnt call you an idiot...
if you feel like im giving this board a bad vibe why dont
you ask phobia to ban me?

Gubb

I am not going to ask phobia to ban you, because then I
would be stooping down to your level, and being cowardly. In
the end of that one thread you said: what do you mean by: a
little close to home, the truth stings...

when you know damn well what I was implying

and that pisses me off, your instigating and baiting

as far as questioning some of my statements in the other
thread that is fine, i am all for that, and I didnt say I
have a major in political science lets end this, I said I
have I degree in political science, so i would like to think
I know whats going on in my own country.

Dont put words in my mouth, and stop baiting people, thats
what I am saying

"a little close to home, the truth stings..."
actually i dont know exactly what you are implying here,
thats why i asked you what you meant by it.

major-degree whatever im not to well into how that stuff
works over there in the us. sorry for any inconvinience
caused.

stooping down to my level?? what have i done which is in the
same level as wanting someone banned?

and now you are probably going to write something like
"im not going to argue with you because im above that
blahablaha.." well, i have the right to speak up for myself
you know..

I just threw the stooping down to your level comment in for
instigation to see how you like it when people bait (as you
did with earthleakage and I)... no worries

your totally right people have a right to speak for
themselves. I totally agree

Cant we all just get along?

Well son, capitalism is the ... essence, if you will, of the
psychological, and PHYSIOLOGICAL deeply nested need in all
life forms, including australopithicas austromymamus,
commonly called alligator byfoids, for the UNDERSTANDING of
their undermining physical inheritence, freewill if you
will, and purpose and part in the fabric of reality.

How can it be human nature when capitalism has only been
around for a few hundred years (a relatively short period of
time in the trajectory of human history)?

Nice to see a brain here!
Where's Korben when we need him?
Human nature is to waste the land, end resources, become
thing, exploit, work, die from curable disease, consume,
need what they want u to need, buy what they sell you,
belive what they tell you...

bah, I don't think so.

oh dear, you are all missing the clear point.

Capitalism is indeed one of the most successful devices used
so far to perpetuate civilisations (by Capitalism I am
referring to the market economy system, global or local).

Human nature is a combination of evolutionary traits which
are designed (ie have been successful so far, by definition)
to make our genes perpetuate.

By comparing the general traits of our evolved human nature
to the devices of market economy, it has been found
(experimentally) that it is analogous to our sense of fair
play in most cases (obviously the exception that proves the
rule will be put to me).

What I mean is: it's the most difficult system to 'cheat
your way' in. In other words getting something for nothing,
while others make all the work/sacrifices.

the most comprehensive book about this is the blank state by
steven pinker.

Capitalism to my knowledge is not an ism..as in it is not a
formalised school of thought...so there is no doctrine to
subscribe and analyze and postulate whether it's true to
human nature or not..like Ceri said it most marked aspects
are the closest to Survival of the fittest and Social
Darwinism...hence some might say it is the closest to "human
nature"...

but..

Humans are a communal animal..it's its ability to form
communities thast led to Civilisations...not the every man
and dog for himself ethic....are you suggesting that this
progress was "against human nature"??
