I discovered every new print of Autechre's EP7 comes in a
blank jewel case, so no special Ae-case anymore. Also, it
turns out the LP5 album comes in a blank cd-case. What's the
story??

I just read about this on the autechre.nu mb, they just made
an amount of black ones, the ones they are pressing nog are
coming in blank cases..
or something like that

oh that sucks. half the fun of ep7 and lp5 was the
packaging. well maybe more like 25% of the fun.

I saw a copy of lp5 in a shop once in a white case with ae
stamped on it. does anyone have any information on that?

maybe they were out of black ones and stuck with a lot of
blank Ae-cases... But nonetheless it's a shame

when I say "stamped", I mean embossed. It was a specially
manufactured case, just like the black one, only in white.

yes indeed it's a shame, cause mine is still in backorder, I
hope I don't get a stupid blank one, they can keep that..
In that case I'll search further for a black one -> I will
never give up!!

I have 2 copies - one with the black case and the other has
a semi transparent case with autechre stamped on the top
right hand corner and a piece of paper inside with the track
list. I'm pissed cos I thought it was a release I didn't
have and now I'm stuck with 2 copies...

yes that was the one I saw knocking about in a record shop.
I almost bought it too until I flipped it open and saw the
familiar tracklisting: acroyear2, 777, etc.

do you have any idea why two types were made?

Martinhm; I just ordered LP5 from the mart, and got the one
you are talking about. But the colour is the only
difference, right? LP5 have never really had any other
artwork?

This was the LP by the way. Not the CD

no it's just the black color which makes the difference..
But i'm guessing blank cases will be used after this Ae-case
is out of stock, right..?

I was talking about the CD. I don't what the LP looks like.

a white sticker on the back and a white cardboard on the
front.
