what are your thoughts on peepz that steal/borrow your nic
name, ideas, etc for their own on different formats.....

i have to say i find it makes me rather pissed OFF.....i
mean why can't people be original.....if i liked someone's
name, etc. i wouldn't take it as my own on another format.
=/

Did somebody do that to you? Elaborate...

(Hasn't happened to me.)

as far as i know it hasn't happened to me...

but i've unintentionally done it, cuz 'spoonz' is taken on
AIM and yahoo messenger.....it's not exactly original
anyways but i've my own little background to go along w/ it

it's tough being so popular and loved, huh miss le?
everything i do is copied. everyone i come into contact
with just wants to be me!

That happened to me all the time when I was around a person
I knew. He would take my origional jokes, ideas, and
mannerisms and use them when I wasnt around. And then he had
the odasity to say that I had nothing clever to say....

that guy really pissed me off

yea......someone has (i'd rather not elaborate)

i dunno.....it's just kinda strange to steal someone's
nic.....i've had it since 1999, and it was given to me buy a
lovely italian man.....so it's original...never seen it
online.

i just wanted to know if people found it flattering or NOT?

BRAT!!

it's not that......i just find it really bothersome......and
i can't really explain why fully.....but i do. =/

i guess i woulda preferred someone ASK before using it, or
something.....and yea Mickey i know what you mean, when
people take things to suit their needs and claim it was
their idea, etc.....it SUX.

blah

Pshaw. This one bubba I know, whenever I tell him a joke or
say something at a party, he turns around to everyone else
and YELLS out what I've said, and gets a laugh.

This doesn't work if I yell it out myself... something in my
delivery? I have black vats of anti-charisma...

french words le + coeur (which i'm sure you know) i guess
maybe i'm just attached to it.

i know what you mean, theres a sense of pride and
originality to ones nick/screen name imo
--
interesting side note Miss LeCouer theres a big story in the
news about the biggest identity theft ring in US history
being busted today- u think an online nick is bad b0nk these
people got their personal identity stolen and got robbed of
thousands of dollars! :(

offline Mickey Mouse from The Moon on 2002-11-25 21:50 [#00456326]

Kick him in the nuts fleetmouse...

LeCoeur tell him to straight up to start thinking for
his/her self and be origional, and to stop jacking other
peoples flow!

Then stomp on his/her big toe!

I always get violent when it comes to people just stealing
things that do not belong to them...

i have a friend who used to steal my jokes, well id sat them
to him and then he'd go and say them when we were with a
group of friends and get all the "fame". i always found it
funny and would always make sure they knew he stole it,. now
its an outstanding joke if he steals something ill just look
at him and he goes " sorry copywrite john 2002" lol its
quite funny

hehehe.....A, i like your analogy....tee hee

woah bonk.....yea thats a lot worse...i've heard of that
before, people do that with checks in the mail......they
take the ones you make out to others and use chemicals to
take off the name you wrote and put their name =/

mickey - it's actually someone on the MB that has done
it....not a friend. if a friend had done it i'd tell them
STRAIGHT UP!!

grrrrrrrrrrrrrrRRRRRRRR

Are they actually pretending to be you (IE pass themselves
off as you) or are have they just copied your name?

Remember, "imitation is the highest form of praise" as they
say...

Still, I can see why you're annoyed. People always leech my
ideas/jokes etc. I guess it happens to all of us. Good
argument for becoming a recluse, eh?

Sometimes though 2 or more people genuinely do just have the
same idea at the same time...
Although in this instance it sounds like that's not the
case.

If you know them in the real world threaten to give them a
kicking. Usually works.

offline LeCoeur from the outer edge of the universe (United States) on 2002-11-28 10:31 [#00459999]
Points: 8249 Status: Lurker | Followup to Ceri JC: #00459986

no no they are NOT pretending to be me, they just use my
name as their own. and i know they copied it from here, i
mean what are the chances of TWO girls on the same MB having
the same name.....no way....

i know imitation is SUPPOSED to be flattery but it's never
been for me. i have had this happen before in real life, it
really just bugs because i like thinking some things are
original and i like being an individual.....and i feel like
someone is STEALING my individuality/originality!!

it bothers me enough to be vocal (to a point about it) and
make a topic. i just hope the person READS this and realizes
it's NOT cool. =0)

sowwie it's happened to you as well....this is the first
time it's happened to me ON line that i KNOW about.
