if you americans illegalized guns like us australians there
would be a 80% cut in violence

easy gun accessibility cant be good.

anyone know where that cartoon with the sarcastic bullet was
taken from? ive got to see that part again. and i'd like
to reread all those statements about the us' political and
military involvement everywhere in the world.

criminals will always get guns. the people who use guns for
safety/hunting are not the ones that mis use guns at over
the top rate. so why ban it from people who use them
properly? criminals can just smuggle them in like drugs
anyway

these anti gun people only care when someone gets shot in
some school or suburb.. people get murdered in nyc ghettos
everyday and you dont even hear about it. the guns were
most likely bought from the trunk of someones car in some
dark ally. yea its good to make it stricter to buy gones
and trak them easily, and they should get strict. but they
need to focus on better policing, and if you look at the
stats of a major city like NYC, murders have gone down
significantly with the implementation of different/efficient
police "strategies".

why not restrict gun sales to people who have a liscence? i
think all they do in the states is do a crappy background
check and a few days later, you walk out with a gun!

the simspons laughed at this matter when homer wants to get
a gun. he admits to having a violent temper, that he once
was in a mental institution and to being an alcoholic (or
something like that), and the guy says "no problem, you'll
have a gun in 3 days".

i mentioned the simpsons thing because it made me laugh.
people dont always see to what extent this sitcom is really
'politically-opinioned'. they constantly laugh at their own
governmental politics.

"the guns were most likely bought from the trunk of someones

And where do you think these came from in the first place?

thats true, but banning guns completely wont prevent the
criminal from getting his gun. They should/need to get
stricter in sales yes- much stricter. The only thing is, in
a lot of the country type places in America, owning a gun is
second nature, its a way of life. Thats why its such a
heated argument. I dont hunt or need a gun for safety, its
the other x millions of people who fight for it.

that whole statistics thing with michael moore making the
usa look really pathetic with gun murders is kinda wrong.
you need to look at the population density and shit, its
kinda bogus

back in the days, slavery was a way of life in some parts of
america too, but things changed for this issue. this is not
an argument imo. same applies for 'well ive got a shitload
of loaded guns in my house cuz the 2nd amendment gives me
the right to do so".

i agree with you on those stats, theyre not proportionate to
the population. i was a little stunned though. canada had
something like 160 firearm homocides and the us had 11,000.
we've got 10 times less people in cada, so if we calculate
the murder rate for canada for 300 million people, we'd have
1600!!!! i thought the us had like 150 times the murder
rate of canada (proportion kept)...
