This Christmas I'm planning to get an ambient album. I'm new to the genre but Brian Eno, Aphex etc seem to be the go.
Any recommendations? BTW, I don't really want stuff too disturbing, just beautifully melancholy =D

earthrise, n.tone is a 2 disc solid chunk of ambience, and generally one of the best sequenced compilations i've come across.
i know there's actually a couple of these, and i'm not sure which album i've got.
