UNDERWOOOOORLD!

Wow. Fucking WOW!
Got into the venue at about 8pm and Darren Price was already
playing some great house/tech-house/whatever you call it.
Readymade FC (or whoever the support were supposed to be
didn't turn up). This drunk bloke pushed past us and got up
on stage about to touch Rick+Karl's equipment but basically
just was surprised he was able to get up there and was told
to get off the stage, with no hassle. Darren played
non-stop, getting louder and louder up until 9:50 when he
mixed the last record into Underworld's Most 'ospitable and
then Underworld took to the stage and, well, hugged (aah!).
They played a fantastic set which consisted of:

1. Dark Train
2. [New Improvisation] (very nice!!)
3. Dinosaur Adventure 3D (don't like this track, never will,
although it was okay live)
4. Cowgirl/Rez (with Karl singing part of the lyrics to
Dirty Epic)
5. Two Months Off (funky)
6. Pearl's Girl (drilling and powerful)
7. Dirty Epic (perfect, I can now die happy :-)
8. Push Upstairs (great)
9. King of Snake (new music in the middle where Karl sings
his "Fire in the hand" bit)
10. Twist (with Karl actually PLAYING his guitar, super
licks there mate!)
11. Born Slippy.NUXX (euphoric as ever)
12. Jumbo (lovely as ever)
13. Mo Move (with Karl singing the lyrics to River Of Bass)

(wonderful version, better than the album version for sure,
even though that's excellent)

Encore:
14. Rowla (with Karl dancing behind/above Rick, v kewl)
15. Moaner (mental is the only way to describe it)

Not totally sure about the order but they're definitely the
tracks they played.
I'd been wanting to see Underworld for more than 5 years and
last night I finally got to do so. "Fantastic" as Karl said,
looking amazed into the screaming (and I mean SCREAMING)
crowd. I've seen Oasis, U2, Radiohead, Coldplay and loads of
other bands live but I've NEVER heard a crowd go so wild as
like last night. Truly amazing.

patrik,
remember all the tracks? wow...
hadn't heard all of them, being not a huge UW fan, just
enjoyed most of the stuff they've put out. but that gig was
something special, yeah.
getting better all the time.
orbital's gig last year was the best thing i've seen live
though. now that was a crowd screaming and going wild.
euphoric!
