But more to the point: Qrter, what's so unusual about
braindamaged people arguing over a movie? Is one of them
especially deranged? Point it out to me, I'm lazy

anybody's attention...

All my favourite avatars are the ones that haven't changed
in a long time.

People probably change them mostly for their own
entertainment... it is very rare that i see an avatar here
that i really think is mindblowing. When people change it
they're probably thinking: "oooh, this one looks awesome!
i bet everyone will love it!
", but then other people see
it and they just go: "oh okay, it's changed." (or am
i the only one who thinks so negative? ;-))

Avatars become nice only when they've been around for a long
time, and you get used to them... and eventually they become
a part of the way you picture the people on this board...
the avatar a part of their personality or something. It
doesn't even matter what's on it, or if it looks good... it
just feels good because you're used to it :-)

Just my opinion anyway, i plan on never changing mine
anymore. Unless i find a really great other picture of
george... but i dunno, i really like his expression on this
one.

I find my avatar affects my online personality. I'm sillier
when I use the Ellen Feiss icon and sicker when I use Cave
Deli.

I had a Bin Laden icon I almost used... lord knows what that
would have done to me.

But the george-picture has changed my life! Now i'm already

I really liked the one you called "Ellen Feiss" (even though
i've never seen the commercial she's apparantly from), but
she had an interesting face (and i'd just gotten used to
it... like i said in my previous post, that makes me like

She looks very... superior? She is taking part in the

But at the same time she looks really dumb, smart, lazy,

nope, sorry, i really liked it :-) I'm probably missing the
part of the brain that makes other people automatically
dislike big hollywood-movies, because i always seem to enjoy

Not the best movie i've ever seen by far, but still i liked
it.

You've just got to force yourself to not think and
just enjoy the movie :-p

Er, you mean the frontal lobes? :-)

I think what I dislike is not so much the movies but the
hype. By the time the things are released you're already
sick of them. And yes, in this case Celine doesn't help.

Maybe I'll be able to watch it objectively when I'm an old
man peeing in a jar.

You have the exact opposite reaction the advertisers are

Oh well... i thought it was a beautiful story anyway.
Luckily millions of people all over the world agree with me
on this ;-)

I loved American Beauty!!

what a strange thread this has become..

well, fleetmouse, to me "Titanic" is just about the epitome
of a bad movie. its badly written, badly cast, badly acted
(and the combination of badly written lines and bad acting
is DEATH to me), the music is crap, its too long, the
story almost doesn't exist but REALLY wants to etc etc. the
only thing that saves it is the money that has been thrown
at the effects. not enough for me.

I will now cite some lines from reviews to show why I think
these people are insane..

"TITANIC ...... the tale of the unfortunate 'unsinkable
ship', the tale of love that became 'unsinkable'"

O! M! G!

"Tough it would have been better had the movie been
shorter, but if they ask me to re-edit this movie, i think i
will only end up adding another half an hour to the movie,
because it is not just a movie but a euphoria, a magical
experience that i will never want to leave, its like living
in Alice's Wonderland, leading to the desire of having a
loving and a sincere (and of course beautiful) Rose of your
own."

AAAAAAH!

"Then - the song. Who can watch this movie and not be
taken with Celine Dion's performance of "My heart Goes
On."

*breaks down and cries*

"I admire that movie a lot. I feel like I am in that
event that happened and the Titanic sank when I was on it!
It was so olden days!!!"

*bends over and vomits*

offline qrter from the future, and it works (Netherlands, The) on 2002-11-23 18:44 [#00453364]
Points: 47414 Status: Moderator

"What a fantastic Epic of a movie. The Drama, romance and
that ship."

*screams and vomits at the same time, leaving a kind of
high-pitched gurgle*

"Overall, this is a film that gives new meaning to great
cinema."

*while vomiting starts to poop blood*

"No movie has ever been so capable of drawing the viewer
in emotionally. There are scenes during the sinking that
still make me cry, even after multiple viewings. Even as
historical dramas go, this one is very accurate."

huh? *stops vomiting, pooping blood* no, actually its one of
the most inaccurate period drama's..

"I love Titanic,and I keep going back to her.To me,SHE is
the heart of the ocean."

*falls over and DIES*

HOWEVER.. this review is good.. HA HA..

"Titanic puts the 'retard' in 'retarded.' Easily one of
the top 5 worst movies of all time. Anyone who cried at the
end of this film should immediately try and start beef with
LW, better known as twin glocks. Tasting the cold steel
through your medula would be a much better option than
continuing with your pathetic existence. This movie was not
funny at all, the lead female was morbidly obese and the
hero was the homeless vagrant from Growing Pains, I assume
Alan Thicke was too busy hosting episodes of Pictionary to
be available for the movie. Anyway, how this trite piece of
garbage made money is beyond me. The whole movie was
pointless so I'll just cut to the end, the only remotely
funny part. The kid from Growing Pains is freezing his nuts
off in the water while his fat beast girlfriend is floating
on some wooden raft all warm and comfy. There is easily
enough room for the two of them, however, she refuses to let
him on. I bet that kid never saw this coming when he was
living in that Janitor's closet on Growing Pains before the
Seavers took him in. Anyway, the Growing Pains guy
eventually dies, however, instead of floating on the surface
like all the other corpses in the water, the Growing Pains
hobo for some reason sinks to the bottom. While all this is
happening the fat girl is crying, I don't know why. She
clearly could have saved him by just moving over a few
inches and sharing a bit of the raft. Perhaps she just
misplaced her twinkies. Anyway she struggles to blow some
whistle then some British guy saves her, the end, this movie
was atrocious."

"the lead female was morbidly obese"

Oh yeah, this is a great argument :-p
It must be a horrible movie because the lead female isn't
skinny!

Well i have to agree on what he writes about the ending...
not very realistic maybe. But my god... was your heart made
of stone or something? :-p That scene is all about the
drama! It's a classical love-story. Sure i guess the ending
to romeo and juliet is also a little ridiculous and
unrealistic... but it's all about the drama! How could
anyone fail to miss that??! You people analyse movies too
much :-p You should just sit back and enjoy them some more.

(+the lead female looked great ;-))

oh I can still sit back and enjoy a movie, but it has to be
good for that to happen. if its overtly crap, as
"Titanic" is, I can't for the love of god get enthralled by
it. the story was cheap and so were the "story-telling
techniques". a good film uses the same techniques in a less
overt way, so I notice them less.
