i just remembered a movie i used to watch when i was
alittle kid.

Disneys "Flight Of The Navigator"

anyone remember this movie? the kid slips and gets knocked
unconcious in the woods. When he wakes up, he goes home...
but its 8 years later, and his family has moved. But then he
is reunited with them, but they are all 8 years older, and
he has remained the same. So the government finds out, and
does all these tests. And then he finds out a space craft
hadpicked him up... and the spacecraft has a computor named
max that navigates the ship etcetcetc.

I dont know what made me think of it, and i had to look
online before i remembered the name and exact story...but
now i feel like watching it. hahah

ah, i love memories from childhood, they dont seem to come
that often for me... :(

whoa.
well, i never saw flight of the navigator, but your note
made me think of a couple other things.
disney made a movie called the black hole, which gave me a
really eerie feeling as a kid - this kid and his trashy
little robot are alone on this huge spacecraft that looks
like the eiffel tower on its side after a nuclear attack.
then there's this mad scientist and his evil machine (and i
think its name is maximillian).
then the other part of your message about the boy coming
home to an abandoned house made me think of time bandits,
which i always appreciated because they end that film and
the kid's completely fucked, and nobody cares.

well, that was fun...
i've never seen it, but i've had a couple of people tell me
that disney's watcher in the wood scared the F out of them.

i just like remembering happy little moments from my
childhood. there is alot of innocence, and you look back
regretfully, wishing the world still appeared that way to
you.

yeah I remeber the Flight of the Navigator.. I thought the
computers voice was very cool UNTIL it changes into a wacky
kind of voice.. pff..

I also remember The Black Hole - creeped the hell out of me,
especially the large robot (indeed Maximillian). I even had
Black Hole-dolls.. I saw it again 2 years ago and its pretty
crap.. :)

I must agree with Jarworski - Explorers is the shits. really
good film, very funny, very good special effects.. YEAH!

Yeah Zeus, I remember that film too. I used to love it
too...remember some parts of it quite well, but I think
that's because I saw bits of it last time it was on TV.

P.S. Who else thought Sword of the Stone was the best
cartoon Disney movie. It was my favourite one ten years ago
and still is now, heh.

Anyone seen 'the last starfighter'?
A kid plays starfighter on an arcade machine, and he beats
the highscores. Suddenly he gets picked up by aliens to join
in an interstellar batlle.

I'm a MAJOR nostalgia freak!

I keep every magazine/comic/book I've ever had, every action
figure, every movie. I just burnt the entire Transformers
cartoon series on to 10 CDs. I have thousands of ROMS of
games that meant SO much to me when I was but a teeny tiny
lad. I'm desperately clinging to my past.

Movies today are just. Identityless. Dont know what to call
it, but they will never make an impact like the movies from
the 70s and 80s. Dont get me wrong. When I go to the cinama
nowadays, I expect a cool movie. But mostly they are cool
because of the SFX. When I rent an old 80's movie, they are
just so much cooler. Better story, less FX.
To live and die in LA for example. Nice movie!
not to mention all that weird SF and horror they made in the
80s.
