The US House of Representatives has approved the notorious bill "Cyber Security Enhancement Act" (CSEA). In it the maximum penalty for computer crime is raised to life imprisonment. To be fully established it should be voted by Senate. The bill encourage ISP to record customer information ,including e-mails, and report suspicious activity on their networks to the government. Those can be obtained by authorities without search warrant. The bill also shields ISPs from lawsuits about privacy intrusions. As a result, there is great concern whether this bill could endanger privacy on the net. More Details: |
