is it different from the original?
cos like a month ago went to my cd store and they had it
with the normal cover, and today as i went again they had a
version with japanese title on the left...
what is this about?
(i already own the original, just curious)

All Japanese releases have a paper thing wrapped round the
outer edge of the cd to say the name in Japanese... That is
the only difference.
Sometimes Japanese releases have extra tracks and stuff but
I dont think any of the Aphex records do.

non-obi strip in the shop???

well makes sense - they want the cd to look how it would in
its country of origin - but want japanese-only literate
people to be able to read it

i think its a great idea

obi strips are great

The Funki Porcini one on fast asleep is in English as is the
main CD. Mind you, I think it's because the title is so hard
to read on the cover you can't tell who it is. It was seeing
the obi-strip that mad me realise it was porcini and hence
buy it...
It does get in the way and I can imagine it getting quite
tatty in the near future.

The Japanese version of Surfing On Sine Waves has a bonus
track on it from the Quoth EP, Bike Pump Meets Bucket I
think.

Lots of WARP releases in Japan have bonus tracks - AE, BOC,
Squarepusher, Aphex, etc.

why is that? why is Japan the designated country to get cool
things like obi strips and bonus tracks.. ok well im only
curious about them getting the bonus tracks..

because cd's are more expensive in japan. Apparantly for
japanese people it's cheaper to import cd's from somewhere
else.

So in order to make people buy cd's in japan, they have to
put something extra on it.

everything is so expensive in japan...

Ha! Its not quite that expensive! I found CDs to be about
the same price as here, and their ciggies are much cheaper.
food is about the same price, & often better quality (in
resterants.)

(arg i've forgotten how to spell!!!)

btw the apples or fruits in general are more expensive than
the rest, cos japan import all their wood, vegetables
fruits, cos they dont want to change the nature into a
production machine, they dont want to cut their trees...
strange
