no quality whatsoever. this really pisses me off. in my incunabula repress the center stickers are fucked up and the cardboard doesn't fit in its shape. my saw 1 repress - the whole covers are so badly made they'll broke soon. my björk repress is bad sound quality.
why don't they make these properly? or am i the ony one with bad repress luck?

That's more like a rule than exception. It's a common problem. :-/
Original stuff rules. I don't like represses.

Is there some technical reason for it? Do they keep the original press moulds?

my incunabula has the same center thingie on each four sides. if i believed them, the record would only have these three tracks:
Bronchus 2, Basscadet, Eggshell

it'll never be the same like the original presses ... so who cares ... it's on vinyl and it SHOULD sound clear and deep. otherwise you should bringt it back to the store ..

it's nothing to do with whether its a repress or not - obviously you have been sold a dud neeta - take it back and they will refund you or get you another .
the repress and the original should sound the same if the same metalwork is used - it'll sound different and better if it's been re-mastered .

...usually it's the artwork that is messed up or is in bad quality (slightly lighter etc).

Do you reckon they just scan/photocopy the old artwork? (I imagine lots of early 90s artwork origninal stuff wouldn't be still available to the record labels...)

yeah thats happened to me with the artwork
but specialist companies who base all their business on represses (simply vinyl, sundazed etc), the repress is usually far superior, both with the sound (it has usually been remastered especially) and with the artwork (better quality cover prints and inners), also usually come with nice plastic outers.
