Has Aphex ever stated openly what he thinks of AE? Just a
little curious... I know he said he's not too fond of
everyone on Warp, but I also heard something of him emailing
wicked sounds to Sean of AE.... anyone got any dirt here?

I have an interview with RDJ from a Japanese magazine from
last year where I am pretty sure he mentions what he thinks
of ae - I keep meaning to get it scanned so it can be put up
on this site.. promise I will get around to it one day soon.

The Wire had an interview with Ae, and this is what they
said about Aphex:

Autechre are by their own admission anal to the max, and
revere Richard James as "the most state of the art musical
scientist there is". Yet they are searching for ways to
incorporate complexity into a broader vision of
self-transformation.

once read an interview with RDJ (in the dutch magazine
Bassic Groove), just after druqks came out, that ae had
e-mailed him some samples he would like or something.. that
seems to indicate they talk to eachother..

where those samples of Jean-M Jarre...

ie taking the piss...

and yeah, I think they do respect each other
greatly...basically because AE have never ripped AFX in the
same way as many other IDM/techno acts...

the bad relationship between lennon and mcartney in the last
years was very productive in terms of creativity... so it
wouldnt be bad news if they really dont like eachother
