Well, after a couple of months of not being here at all,
for reasons of boredom (no offense to anyone) and important
issues in the real world. In short, I bought a synth, got
ripped off, and im trying to get compensation from eBay.
But, the good news is I came out of the whole ordeal with an
even better synth than I would have had before. A yamaha
cs6x, which I am really happy with. Its got an onboard
sampler and sequencer, with some awesome filters and it
sounds pretty fat. So thus begins my electronic music career
(notice: i use the word "career" very loosely). Anyway, its
good to see you all again.

ZT

well, it's quite a doozy, but here goes:

I originally bought a Yamaha An1x analog modeling synth from
ebay for 345 total (shipping included), but after 2 months
of not hearing anything from the guy (after he had already
cashed the check we sent him), a piece of shit broken an1x
came that was _definately_ not the one that was pictured. It
was missing the power supply, a key, and all the screws to
the goddamned case. Methinks he was worried of gettin nailed
for fraud and sent me whatever he could. I am in the process
of filing a fraud claim with ebay right now in hopes of
getting some of my money back. This synth was to be my
christmas present, and I had to pay 100 of it. So after not
getting it, I was pretty depressed because I really want to
create electronic music. Well, my parents felt really bad
for me, so they agreed (as long as I payed half, and it is
my christmas and birthday present now, not just xmas =p) to
let me get a synth that I could really use, and I decided on
the Yamaha CS6x. It cost $640 total but that is still a
really good deal considering it retails for $1400. At the
point of ordering my new synth, still no word of my original
synth had come. Then 2 days after I ordered the new one, the
original came, after we were so sure that we had gotten
ripped off (although we still did, just in a different way).
So there ya go, you win some you lose some I guess. If I can
get some compensation from eBay though, I can get the an1x
fixed and either sell it for more than I paid (345 would
have been a really good deal if I hadnt gotten ripped off),
or if my parents let me, keep it and get a two tier keyboard
stand and have a full studio goin. ;)

So there you have it, my unexplained absence for 3 months
revealed.

another way. Hope you make some good music with it!

I hate people who lie & scam. They will burn in hell, don't
worry.

Thanks everybody for your support, yeah it sucked to get
scammed but I came out okay in the end. You all will soon
see many threads by me asking for help/advice on hooking up
my synth via midi and figuring out all them crazy software
sequencers and shit. =p

damn, its good to be back :)
