I'm thinking about using cubase as my performance tool. I
use alot of other programs for creation but I need one
program for performance.
My problem is I can't figure out how to use volume envelopes
on my wav files in the arrangement window. You know how
acid does? I'm possitive this program has to be able to do
this.

this is one for Bremzen..

I mean, I use Cubase SX for "creation" and live, as Bremzen
does, but he knows a lot more about the nittty gritty
details..

I'll ask him..

first of all, which version of cubase are you going to use?
i'd strongly recommend cubase sx, because it's simply better
(also if you're going to use it for performances).
secondly, do you need automatic volume envelopes (applying
the same envelope to your samples) or do you want to create
envelopes per sample? as for the latter, cubase sx has
wonderful & easy to use automation possibilities
(logic-wise) as apposed to cubase 5.1 which has a more or
less awful automation implementation imo. you can also let
cubase apply the same vol.env. to your samples by using the
auto-fade function, which is also very easy to use. another
possibility is to right click a sample, then goto process
and then select (that's right you guessed right) envelope.
i hope this answeres your question, good luck.

I was able to get cubase sx from kazaa with no problem you
should try there.

I haven't even begun to use the program yet, as I don't even
know where to start. I'm pretty intimidated by these
incredibly powerful software music creation programs, but
I've almost got fruityloops figured out. ;)
