....so?

something i dont know anything about?

[sexist remark]
Gubb: it's ok for her to spam cos she's a girl and doesn't
know any better.

Benn can usually spam his tracks quite good himself so im
quite suprised to see somebody else do it for him.

anybody remember that "support the victims of the WTC
tragedy" record he was spamming about right after the WTC
incident. i think it was on the mu board.. LOL!

okey, okey... i guess you havent had any
flashbulb/benn/christpuncher spamming incidents then, it was
quite long ago but i still have
Benn/flashbulb/christpuncher=spam in my brain.

offline Gubb on 2002-11-17 11:23 [#00445325]

she spammed it at mu and watmm to.

maybe its benn in disguise :)

SPAM! SPAM! SPAM! SPAM! SPAM! SPAM! SPAM! SPAM! SPAM! SPAM!

nah she's an idm artist. personally i didn't care much for
the songs she has available to download on her site (i can
name 15 better artists on this board), but she does have a
good reputation for live performances apparently. i hope
that's for her talent instead of her gender and "kooky" wig
and clothing. as for the spam, it wouldn't be bad of her if
we actually knew her. but since she just comes on here to
plug her web site or her mp3's then it's kind of insulting.

offline J-HOK on 2002-11-17 12:34 [#00445448]

how is it spam?
if someone provides a link to a new aphex track, is that
spam ?

offline titsworth from Washington, DC (United States) on 2002-11-17 12:35 [#00445449]
Points: 14550 Status: Lurker | Followup to J-HOK: #00445448

^see above. it's not spam if we know the person, but if
she's just coming on to advertise herself it's kind of
cheesy.

offline titsworth from Washington, DC (United States) on 2002-11-17 12:36 [#00445454]
Points: 14550 Status: Lurker

...but if you want to test out your theory, go ahead and
provide a link to a new aphex track and we'll see how people
react, ok? :)

offline J-HOK on 2002-11-17 12:39 [#00445455]

i wouldnt do that :)

i know, just teasing you. i'm going to bump up our previous
convo so you can get the kid606 and moby mp3's, ok? check
for it.

offline J-HOK on 2002-11-17 12:41 [#00445461]

yeah i got em

offline titsworth from Washington, DC (United States) on 2002-11-17 12:42 [#00445465]
Points: 14550 Status: Lurker

oh you got it already? i dunno, i guess you and 606 couldn't
be more opposite. he has some better tracks in that style
but i don't have the web space for it. also, he does make
his own music from scratch and that's pretty good. very
different sounding from what you heard though.

so do you see what i mean now about fucked-up remixes that
only take 10 minutes to make?

offline J-HOK on 2002-11-17 12:44 [#00445468]
Points: 904 Status: Addict

no, i understand the style, but i could do a fucked up remix
like that easy :) that was was a crock of shite :) but id
like to hear his good shit

so you know what to do? what track are you gonna fuck with?
i put "ah-ah" there but it was just a suggestion. some BoC
would be funny to mess with too.

ok, cool. looking forward to the laughs. if you want to hear
a kid606 original piece (which is more like some of the
stuff i've heard by you if it were done by him) plus a joke
remix i did of boards of canada, check the same web
directory as before

nice to meet you too, titsworth. thank you for welcoming me
to the board.

this board is rather sprawling and overwealming in terms of
posts, but it seems like an interesting place so far.. ;)

offline Mickey Mouse from The Moon on 2002-11-17 13:42 [#00445574]

honestly. what is the big hoopla about spam. If the person
follows up with it, and posts after the spam post... and
frequents the board... I think its perfectly ok. I
understand why they dont want any at the µ board. That is
perfectly understandable... but places like here... and at
watmm, tefosav, em411....are meant for people to show off
their tunes and "spam", to get opinions and information that
could possibly help them in the future. In my eyes... spam
is that stuff you get in your mail that you dont know where
it came from... like erectile enlargements.. and weightloss
products.. but if a person posts agian and becomes a member
of the board... I dont see it as a problem at all. Anyone
else see it this way?

i am very sceptical to people providing links to their music
if they are on a message board just for that cause. if it is
a well known artist or a regulat who has posted something
besids urls to thier tracks i find it okey.. i dont know if
you hanged around message bords/forums when the big mp3.com
spam wave was.. *shrug* everybody posted links to thier
(manny times) crappy songs on mp3.com because you got like
money from them for every download... as you probably can
understand it was well annoying and its the root of my
recentment towards music spaming!
