Oh wow... Nethack is a long lost dream of mine. We had it
when I was little, and I wasn't allowed to play it until I
was ten (for some reason....?), and then my parents thought
my sisters were addicted and deleted it a few weeks before
my birthday. I've got to find it again - just to settle old
childhood bitternesses.

There's still an annual Nethack tournament every year. I
remember the old port of "Rogue" to the C64 a long time ago.
After playing that I got into "Moria" then "Angband" in
college. I've only ever beaten Angband once, playing on and
off for about 10 years.

It's good to see people still playing the roguelike games.

rogue was my first.. i also played adom for quite a while
but its just not as good as nethack

text interface is just what makes it so cool
