The only people in the UK who weren't spewing hate were the parents of the victims and imho they are the only ones who can. I was watching the news and they showed footage of the suspects being transferred and there were hundred of people screaming abuse and throwing stuff at the polic van. For me I get a vibe of voyerism in there. It's a time for the families to come together and try to come to terms with what has happened. If I were in their shoes I would have totally lost it and laid into the crowd of emotion-tourists with a hedge-trimmer. But that's just me.. |

it seems to me what happened today is that the media either deliberately didn't mention this until the last possible minute (i.e. they knew she was dying) for which i applaud them, or they kept it a secret until the last possible moment, for which i also applaud them. this shit shouldn't dominate the media, and i hope it goes relatively unnoticed, then everyone can just get on with their lives. it's just not worth it. |
