People should take a break from idm

I stopped listening to electronic music about 3 months ago
in an an attempt to pursue my education in other styles. Now
I've started listening again and it's soooooo much better
than ever before. For instance today since I woke up I've
been listening to all my autechre chronologically and ..
words fail me.

Hey dude, I don't really like Autechre but I have Milk DX on
and it's making me cream atm. I can't get into those guys
cuz I already have too much to buy.

I like to take a rest from many things like that also. It's
a good plan. Helps you re-evaluate your perspective on
something.

awww gabber, now thats something from my teen years as well.

i'm really into techno, but i dislike bpm over 140 nowadays.
also 'guitar stuff' is nice and i really like good female
vocalists (i mean the real ones, not celine dion)

It's really cool you used to be into that btw Neetta.

Princo, I'll be looking out for that label then. I may pick
a CD up for a quick blast of gabba.

i remeber this party my friends had in a very small country
place called nastola. there were tons of normal redneck
teens who thought it was a disco. they managed somehow
through all the house and techno at first, but then it was
time for the last act. the dj started with som poppy hiphop
and everyone was like 'hey, isn't this nice'. then the guy
screamed out loud from the dj box and started playing some
gabber. i have _never_ seen so stunned teens.

everyone left almost instantly :)

For me Autechre was the door to idm/electronica. First heard
them on the Pi soundtrack and they eventually led me to the
like of the twin, the orb, mu-ziq, telefon tel aviv etc.. so
they'll always have a special place in my heart.

i wholeheartedly agree! but a break for me is like a couple
days.....ehehhehh

i love all genre's of music. last night i told my bf that i
was gonna take a long bath cos i needed to RELAX and he
suggested i listen to music. i was thinking what would be
perfect and it was ENYA......ahhahaha. well i wasn't about
to put in Mos Def =0)

there are more than a few IDM snobs here tho.....in the end
i hope they figure out there's a lot more out there thats
worth their time listening to!

yeah..you definitely need some variety
im sure if all you listen to is idm..you'll start to get
bored.. and be one of those people who complains about every
new release

its also good if you make music.. nice to have influences
from different directions... or else you'll end up being one
of those people who sound like autechre
