and even then there's never a simple answer. There are
always aspects of one country that you prefer to the other.

When people say 'better' they usually mean 'more suited to
to them'. There is no objective 'better'

So what it comes down to is my own lack of national
pride...There is no real history or folk tradition to
identify with or be proud of in england. It's been replaced
with a disposable culture of fads and celebs. Where's our
identity...?

"Where's our
identity...?"

See Jonesy's post:

"roast dinners
Carry On films
full English breakfasts
Chas n' Dave
Jim Davidson
saucy Babs Windsor
Pearly kings and queens
BBC
the Krays
Thatcher
the Falklands War
seaside towns like Blackpool & Clacton
fish n' chips in newspaper
the Queen
the Sun and News of the World
page 3 girls... "

What more could you want?

Native cultures used to bring up their kids knowing stories
and music that had their roots over thousands of years.
That's knowing where you come from, knowing how your culture
has developed and feeling connected to your past...

Sorry, I was trying to be ironic. There's very little I
proud of about here. Yes, you could say we have freedom &
civil liberties, but you should be able to take those
things for granted.

Otherwise, it's a bit like saying, "Why do you like person
x?" and someone replying, "Well, he doesn't torture me..."

Britains not too bad. I'm not especially fond of it though.
I like the music scene here and the quality of life is
pretty good so you can't complain...

Yeah, our music is one of our best exports and about the
only thing that make me like the uk...maybe it's a by-
product of the social detachment I mentioned?
