The government is useless, and the people have an acceptance
level that no other european country would endure.

I think if people in the UK would open their minds a little
and drop their bullshit defensive attitude we would be
somewhere close to having a good country. However the
politicians continue to lie and try to forge us into the new
world order, people are stupid allowing themselves to be
raised by products and hardly an independent thought is
raised in your typical ape-like human. The UK needs a lil
wake up call.

well you have to live there so better make the most of it !
i like london although it's the belly of the3 beast - and
it's dirty and violent and expensive - i still have more
freedom to go and see what i want and buy records and travel
and go to clubs and the cinema and all that which i didn't
have where i come from..
i'd hate to live somewhere like kiddiminster tho

It's better than most countries. Although the people in
Wales are peasants. Not in monetry terms, just their
attitude and ignorance.

yeah i'm going to a thing at the ic - these people that make
instruments from really ancient designs and play modern
music on them - or i might go to a thing about automatons ie
victorian mechanical toys - the kind that gave people the
willies cos they assumed that if a doll moves of it's own
accord it's because of black magic!

I have been to many countries and I must say I like the UK
the most to live in. I lived in California for a little
while but the UK seems to fit me best. I just have trouble
with bullshit corporations that you can't avoid and some
peoples attitudes.

I'm welsh and I've lived there most my life. Go up the
valleys if you want to see idiocy, laziness, racism and
ignorance. At least in England stuff is done to a reasonable
quality. Wales seems to have a "just enough" attitude, much
like you get in Greece.

yes they're poor as well and not very well atteneded to -
small communities with no money seem to be inward looking
i'm from one and they have some funny ideas about races and
people ad why and what they do ...
anyone that is there still is married has children -
unemployed never leaves the place - all the things that
would make me bored stiff - they also have no money.

fair point about Wales, I've not lived there...That's what
is good about the UK, we have a fairly liberal and open
society. Lots of cultures etc...but the government shits on
us!

I love the UK. I love your music, your drink, your sexually
active royal family, your television, your music, and any
place that spawned Douglas Adams, Sid Vicious and Richard
Dawkins must be pretty damn kewl.

Do you still have Viz comics? I used to love the Fat Slags.

I've been living in Germany for almost 10 years (lived in
Dublin before) and my Mum is constantly complaining about
how much better things are in England (that's just cos she's
dead patriotic though, anything Britain or a British person
does is always right in her view)
I think her Dad telling her stories about killing Germans
and proud to be fighting for his nation has probably warped
her mind.

most people in england live off it! It shapes our culture
and you can't just ignore it...

Britain is the best country in the world you fools. We had
an empire for Pete's sake. Just think of everything that is
great about Britain:

roast dinners
Carry On films
full English breakfasts
Chas n' Dave
Jim Davidson
saucy Babs Windsor
Pearly kings and queens
BBC
the Krays
Thatcher
the Falklands War
seaside towns like Blackpool & Clacton
fish n' chips in newspaper
the Queen
the Sun and News of the World
page 3 girls...

I really like a lot of english stuff.... all the good things
mentioned above, but any time i have been there, the day to
day living lifestyle is awfully dull. I did a course in
Slough once so maybe i shouldn't judge so harshly!! I've
never been to a decent english pub either.. full of game
machines and zero craic!

I'd say cornwall has some nice pubs though!

you can find a bar with atmosphere and character! What is it
with the bland pubs in a lot of uk cities!?

that's true actually, English pubs are rather dull or full
of annoying tossers. Irish pubs are great.
I'll never forget watching Ireland - Spain this year (when
Ireland lost :(
It was in the Irish pub in Augsburg (ok, not a genuine Irish
pub as it's not Ireland) but the atmosphere was mad.
Everyone screaming: Shea!!! SHEA!!! Fucking Shea!!! You can
do it COME OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO----FUCK! NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

France had an empire too and the only reason they were
defeated at Waterloo was through a lot of luck and a little
bit of bad management (say my mate who's a phD in History so
:p). That doesn't make them any better than the rest of us.
I could spout facts about the various achievements of
nations all day long but the simple fact is that we are all
equals. No country is better than another.
'More-suiteed-for-me-to-live-in' and 'better' are two very
different things...
