Have you heard Aenima? It's even better. Lateralus is pretty
awesome, though... The Grudge, Parabola, Schism, Tricks and
Leeches... rocks my ass!

I'd get Aenima first, it's the obvious prototype Tool album.
Although I think Undertow might be my fave...

Anus_Presley > any of them is good.
opiate, undertow, ænima, lateralus, all of them.

i started with ænima, couldn't tell my favorite...

opiate has some great ones, but some lows too, and it's just
an ep... undertow is better maybe it's the one who has the
most "personality" as an album _ ænima is often regarden as
tool's masterpiece, and it is really great esp. with songs
like 'ænema', or 'third eye', these are awesome _ lateralus
is of the same level, it has a wonderful packaging and it is
more "coherent" as an album than the others.

at least this is how i feel them. ' _ '

Isn't that track a recipe for garbage brownies?

offline uzim on 2002-11-14 14:04 [#00442116]

a recipe for space cakes actually...

it's a recipe for hash brownies, 'sang' in German. hash is a
form of marijuana.

"die eier von satan" means "the eggs of satan"

offline uzim on 2002-11-14 14:08 [#00442126]
Points: 17716 Status: Lurker

The Eggs of Satan

Half a cup of powdered sugar
One quarter teaspoo salt
One knifetip Turkish hash
Half a pound butter
One teaspoon vanilla-sugar
Half a pound flour
150 g ground nuts
A little extra powdered sugar
... and no eggs

Place in a bowl
Add butter
Add the ground nuts and
Knead the dough

Form eyeball-size pieces from the dough
Roll in the powdered sugar
and say the Magic Words:
"Sim sala bim bamba sala do saladim"

Place on a greased baking pan and
Bake at 200 degrees for 15 minutes
...AND NO EGGS

Bake at 200 degrees for 15 minutes
...and no eggs.

the "magical words" are taken from bill hicks (as well as
the idea of 'california bay' and many other things in the
album...).

i like 'die eier von satan' very much... i think it deals
with the credulity of the masses _ the crowd is like getting
mad at the recipe in the song, like they don't know what's
actually said in the song... and lots of people having
listened to the track without having understood the lyrics
thought it was a nazi chant. :)

all tool is good but i prefer their later works
aenima\salival\lateralus moreso than opiate and undertow but
those are good in their own right.

What about a Perfect Circle, anyone like them? I think
they're a bit too polished for my liking, REALLY lush
production... but there's a few songs on Mer De Noms that I
like as much as any Tool (Rose, Magdalena, Hollow).

APC are AWESOME.....well MAYNARD singing is awesome. when i

TOOL clone, but by the 9th show....i was all about APC
...... his voice is sublime

Aenima is the KING of TOOL imo.....i mean nothing comes
close to 'third eye,' 'PUSHIT,'and 'fourty six and 2!'

love love loves them......they will be in my hometown next
week....but since i saw them at redrocks with king
crimson.....i only wanna see them if/when they play a
smaller venue.
