monitors are more accurate, flat response. speakers usually colorize more the sound, not flat. that's one. |

Thinking about it, why would people want really expensive "speakers"(£6000+)? Surely a £1500 set of monitors would give more accurate playback? Are they just for the type of person who likes "warmth" etc. (ie distortion ;) ) added to their music? |

i guess so yeah you've got a point there!!!!! i guess it's because most hi-fi enthusiasts are used to hearing names like sony or whatever, and they're only gonna research into hi-fi equipment.....most of the time you're only paying for the brandname they would all be better off buying a decent pair of monitors i think so anyways |

audiophile speakers (those expensive ones) sound awesome. not flat at all (that would not be very musical) but acuratedly compensed, equilibrated, etc (and with zero distortion/warmth). |
