Well at least I was thinking that lately. So I decided to
let imagery do the speaking rather than words...

Nice picture

have any of you seen marilyn's own artwork.... some of it is
OK. But there is a lot of junk he makes. I went to go see
his art exhibit in LA two month's ago... some was ok, a lot
of bunk though IMO. His album art is pretty good though

he has been doing lots of painting and shit, kinda looks
like some, though yours is a photo. He sells that shit for
like $20k

Looks like some stuff on deviantart.com

I don't agree with your thesis, but you should submit it ito
DA if you haven't already.

this might be a bit much to ask, but do you know anyplace
for a tutorial on doing images like that? i assume it
involves layering or some such method

That image is on deviantart. However I dislike that place as
it is mostly full of the trendwhore breed that think a torus
knot needs 40 favorites.

BILE, Just get access to the software and play around.
that's how I learned.

If you're serious about it though, You might want to get a
book on photoshop. I got one from Visual Quickstart that's
quite good. You learn a lot of complex stuff involving
masks & layers that would be hard to figure out through
trial & error.
