Great to see so many people online...

hehe...shits all over certain other sites outthere....

seriously, I wonder why this mb is more popular than you
know where....you lot know I'm into design and all that so
it intrigues me that this design is so much more popular
than WATMM....

any ideas?...

it....quickly.....and i was here when it happened.

lots of peepz typing tonight....makes things
interesting.....but also makes of large slices of my time
taken that should be doing something else. =0)

37, we should keep this thread up and get lots of points
should the total go higher..............

higher ever higher!

Joy knows that I'm a fan of WATMM...we may jibe each other
sometimes but it's always good natured...

second qrter - don't actually think the design aspect has
too much to do with it (sorry jand) although it sure
is pretty to look at .. ofcourse the layout and stuff can't
be off-putting etc. but its bout the people and that? dunno
..

he seems really sensitive about his web site

personally someone else on this board said it best: "watmm
for resources, xltronic for the forum"

indeed...it is the cru here that makes things so good....

But you'd be surprised how much the design (& I don't mean
just how it looks but also how it operates, hangs
together...) affects the flavour of a mb...

I think perhaps it's the fast & furious nature of this
interface that makes this place feel more alive....it's easy
to have a conversation...

Plus I'm a big fan of minimal design...this place flys
because it's not laden down with loads of crap that not used
half the time.....

The eclectic group we have here is bigger and better... why
this happened, I don't know... this site has always been
fast and sleek, whereas I remember Joyrex.com being way less
stylish.

offline od_step_cloak from Pleth (Australia) on 2002-11-12 21:17 [#00439587]

uhh yeah it's coz it's joyrex's site.
duh.
lol, yeah but phobia gets defensive about this one at watmm
too, so it evens out, man.

I like both places, different atmosphere, this one's more
sorta interestnig and personal but watmm is fuckign
hilarious.

Of course they'll argue that we're just a glorified chat
room... well look over there and you'll find WAY less
interesting convos, despite what they say...

I dig the photoshop threads, and that's about it. :-)

I like this design more, but it's still about 3x as
bandwidth heavy as watmm. Good thing it's on a fast server.

tits...it's not a dis WATMM thread.... just a discussion
about design and how it affects the flavour of a board....

as I said before, I'm a big fan of WATMM, joy knows that so
I'm sure he ain;t gonna be pissed at all about a thread like
this....prob to the contrary he'll probably find it pretty
intereting....

hope that clears it up....:)...

true dat .. the functional part is crucial, and yeah, the
speed is killer on this site. and its pretty to look at too-
(dunno, i think it may sort of work the opposite .. eg. the
design isn't a deterrant)
