Trevor? I thought you got burned up? :P

Anyway, never did like Seinfeld. Since I've been here I've
noticed that I seem to have different opinions on things to
most people ;)

obvious and cheesy!

i love "seinfeld"! The best American comedy along with
Simpsons and Family guy.
Think of it... it has none of the freinds/rosanne/kramer
"sasiness" or gags.. its based on complicated uncannily
familiar story lines. Family guy and Simsons rely on satire
which is great but Seindfeld is the ultimate "situation"
comedy. George is my hero.....! It´s knowing the actors are
laughing along with the jokes, its the entagled storyline,
its the non formulaic tone...nothing has to be resolved at
all with these guys... its just funny fucking stuff
happening. A show about nothing....Who wants relationship
development, will-they-won´t-they bollox?!! all the
characters portray the side of us that is mean, nasty,
unforgiving, petty, assholey, annioying, fidgety, nervous,
pomposus, sloppy.... Its intelligent

arse.. Seinfled been going for 10+ series and has covered
All of Kramers ground.... and hasn´t got the "jeeze those
toffs are so goofy, what will they do next" flavour of
Kramer. Plus british accents don NOT work in american
sit-coms.. i´m sorry!

I agree completely with KEYFUMBLER. Seinfeld is teh funny. I
like how they (especially George) get completely stuck on
little un-important things. Like when they're at Elaine's
boyfriend's cardealership and the vending machine takes
George's money. Then some fat mechanic comes and get the
candybar. It's just impossible for George to calm down and
let go.

the wonderful thing about Seinfeld is, its not likeable. all
the main characters are really egocentrical, only really
looking out for themselves, in constant war with the world
around them.

THATS what makes it so good.

but I also LOVE Frasier. its written so intelligently, it
has great rhythm.

at the moment I think I prefer Frasier, but I still watch
Seinfeld too..

Actually, yeah, The Simpsons is great. I seem to keep
overlooking it because it's animated, but it's probably the
best satire on TV.

great topic! :-p

Apperently there's a superman in every episode =o

That is a myth. (altough people are still discussing this...
maybe one day we will find a supeman in each and every
episode?)

But still, there ALOT of episodes that do have a
superman-reference. I think the count so far is that a 124
episodes DO feature superman.

For starters, there is a superman-refridgerator-magnet on
Jerry's fridge. This accounts for a large number of the
superman-sightings. (altough it only appeared for the first
time in something like the 50th episode).

In later episodes there is also a small superman-statue in
his appartment, that can be seen in lots of episodes :-)

But the best references are easily the verbal ones!

Jerry and george often have discussions about superman (for
instance jerry thinks superman probably also has got
super-humor, but george says he's never really heard him say
anything funny).

It is pretty funny i guess... but i think they probably only
thought of this idea after a few years... it would have been
even cooler if they would have started with the
superman-stuff in the first episode, and he truly would have
been mentioned in each and every one of them :-p

best line form each character

"bad lighting on the porch!".. gerry dating a chick who
looks good in the right light

"i´m the complete opposite of every man you´ve ever
met"... George acts the gentleman and DOESN´T take the
opportunity of going up to his dates appartment.....
backfiring his plan of being NOT-George!

"Jesus!".. Elaine exclaims after flicking through the
pre-programmed christian rock channels on her car stereo
after her boyfreind re-programmed them

"nyaghh".. general Kramer noise!

I love the episode "the bizarro jerry".. Elaine hits the
nail on the head:

Elaine:
Well! I can't spend the rest of my life coming into this
stinking apartment every ten minutes to pore over the,
excruciating minutia, of every, single, daily event..

my absolute favorite seen is I believe in the episode where
Jerry begins shaving his chest... anyways, Kramer tells him
not to or something because it will grow out thicker... but
Jerry doesn't believe him... so, Kramer procedes to show
him... hehe, he's there in his bath robe and he steps behind
the wall, outside of the camera view, but you see Jerry hit
against the other wall trying to cover his eyes... it's
hilarious!!! :)

hairy chest scene is classic!

Elaine... the best female persona ever created on TV cos she
can go from being a fucking money grabbing bitch to being a
feminie, sexy charmer in 2 nanoseconds. Remember her in
hypnotic shock as Gerry counts his wages! She´s amazing,
intelligent, horny, greedy, sexy, ugl, clucky, frigid...
yet, somehow consistant!

Almost every episode is great ;-)

But my favourite one is probably the one where Kramer adopts
a stretch of highway, just so he can keep it clean. (And
later he also decides to make the lanes wider).

The plot on that one was so clever... each and every
storyline connects with another... until finally they all
come together (elaine enjoys the luxury of Kramer's
extrawide lane so much, she starts driving a little wild...
and so a sowing-machine falls from her car.

Then Kramer accidently tips over a huge barrel of
paint-thinner (i think...) he wanted to use to remove the
gray paint from the white lines he painted over.

Newman hits the sowing-machine with his car and drags it
along for a bit... causing sparks to fly as it scrapes
across the highway.

And then when he hits the paint-thinner, his entire car goes
up in flames :-p

(i seem to remember there was also a good reason why elaine
was transporting an old sowing-machine... hm... can't seem
to remember, but somehow this entire series of random events
all led up to Newman's car going up in flames... brilliant
:-p

incidently, i also think Newman is a very underrated
character!

He's just so funny as jerry's nemesis, and he plays his part
brilliantly :-p

lol, now that was a classic! He took that one really far...
arranging a "candy line-up" and everything... just to prove
his point... you've got to love that! Like you said: he
always makes a big fuss about nothing.

Who could forget the time he actually planned an entire trip
(by airplane!) just so he could get even with this one guy
who said: "Hey george, the ocean called, they're running out
of shrimp".

I must agree Frasier is also really good though... i love
the contrast between Niles & Frasier and their father. Them
being too well-educated elitist, and the father "the common
man"... on paper it looks a complete disaster, but somehow
they always manage to make great comedy out of that
contradiction! Excellent show.

"oh yeah with his bigs choco coco cakes or

Are you talking about the muffin-tops episode? (also the
episode funkmaster talked about :-p Jerry shaving his
chesthair)

Elaine had a store that only sold muffin-tops, and they had
no way for disposing the other part of the muffin. But then
Kramer says he know someone who specializes in cases like
this... and it's Newman :-p Complete with a sportcar and
sunglasses... and a suitcase filled with bottles of milk to
wash all the muffins down with... hehe, that was one of the
best endings of a seinfeld-episode ever!
