You good people have any recommendations for someone who loves:
- Derek and Clive - Brasseye - Ali G
I'm sitting here in Canada and I need some new British comedy.

The acting is great though and scarily realistic - like the 'Legs Akimbo' acting group, I remember people like that visiting my school years ago. (cringe) LoL

those 3 are classic & miles better than anything else mentioned here... also probably quite easy to get hold of on video/dvd cos they're all BBC.

Classic comedy: The Young Ones, Fawlty Towers and any moment in any episode of Only Fools & Horses where Trigger calls Rodney 'Dave'.
More recent comedy: The Office is the most wonderfully embarassing thing to watch, Brasseye and The Day To Day for the genius that is Chris Morris, Absolutely Fabulous is exactly that.
The first 2 series of The League Of Gentlemen are excellent but I really though the third series was crap, save for the autoerotic asphyxia scene which was inspired.
However, towering above all these is Alan Partridge as seen in both Knowing Me, Knowing You and I'm Alan Partridge. He's such a complete and nuanced creation that he almost comes across as a real person, not merely another Steve Coogan creation.
Incidentally, there's a new series of I'm Alan Partridge starting tomorrow on BBC2 :D
