I recently saw the new Michael Moore documentary and I have
to say it was a real eye opener. Has anyone here seen it
yet? Any thoughts ?

yeah i saw this last night... very good i thought.. everyone
in america should see it..

it dealt specifically with the issue of gun control... but
more generally with with the issue of scaremongering by the
politicians and media of america

very well done documentary
very funny at times.. quite brutal at others

alot of Moore's stuff is quite funny... but...

i just get tired of the old cliches that he exploits that
everything is always getting worse and worse. people have
always lied. men have always oppressed others. some things
get better, some things get worse. somebody always gets
exploited.

americans have been conditioned by the media to fear
anything that we don't know/different races/killer bee's/
etc.....

that trey parker cartoon was PRICELESS......it needs to be
shown to all youngsters in elementary school so they will
know whats UP!!!

the militia calandar was the scariest for ME!!! ehehehhe
=0)

Grr, i want to see this movie!! Why can't it be released in
more theaters.

I highly recommend Roger & Me, which I did see, and
quite liked. It's about the GM layoffs in Flint, Michigan,
and the subsequent plight of the city as the company pulled
out of town.

He was on Jonathon Ross the other day when an interesting
point was raised:

Canadians apparently have the same number of firearms per
person as America, but crimes involving firearms are
substantially lower.

I loved this movie... I read his book: Stupid white men.. it
was really good. Its amazing that such bigots and complete
jerks can get into positions with such power. Sickens me.
That reporter covering the story about the 6 year olds
shooting was such a twat : " how does my hair look?", what
an ass. I cant believe he want to Westons house! ahahha.
Some parts were really sad. I liked that they interviewed
manson. He really is a smart guy. I love his music.. What
sucks is that: Its nice to know that people are being
exposed to this in america.. people seeing this will
help..... but serious changes are going to have to happen in
america if we want to live in a world without fear and
greed......

I am betting that this change wont take place in my life
time...... or maybe it never will change..

which is kinda sad.

Because there are too many good people out there ...

is the purpose to get people to be in favor of gun control /
harsher laws? or more of just getting them out of the
criminals hands / education?

im still hoping to see it soon

offline Mickey Mouse from The Moon on 2002-11-12 18:17 [#00439188]

The purpose of the movie is greater then the issue of gun
controll..... a lot of issues are shown in the film.... and
from my standpoint.... the root of most problems in america
is fear........ and greed (money: in corperations,
politics....). And america is an extremely corupt
sociaty....

but this is entiry just my IMHO here.... Its not one of
those films were its like... here is the issue.... .here is
what you should think about it...... this movie leaves you
leaving the theater thinking.....

to come up with you own conclusion
