stupidity of their very own President" Portugal. We rip the shit out of our president, prime minister and other politics all the time.
"Bush is our leader, and we should treat him with some respect." he's not mine... i dont treat him with respect. why should i?
I know some americans and the general idea that i've got from you is that you think that you have a great freedom and you should fight for it and you are all very proud of being americans and having a history of.. what.. 100.. 200 ( i dont know ) years.. u.s.a. really sucks, and your president.. well.. i shouldn't even comment your post...

i agree with Flun. For fuck sake, your chosen governemnt is the peoples servent, not the other way around!
My mother moved to Phoenix, AZ 8 years ago and she was made feel extremely isolated by her neighbours because she would not take citizenship. Some bloody freedom that is. I don't know any other democratic country that is so bloody self-praising.
Imagine a room full of people waving their own flag at each other saying "aren't we great! Have you got a flag, I have a flag too... aren't we swell?!"It's pathetic.
what is worse, a state that denies information and makes its citizens ignorant... or a democratic state where the governemnt manioulates its people with fan-fair, hype, ultra-patriatism and dogma. Thank fuck my country and most European countries are neither.
Wake fucking up America!

well, uviol, his decisions on terrorism and the environment (remember that thing? most people have forgotten about it) haven't been reasonable (to put it lightly), and his corporate ties are not a thing of the past. same with his VP. didn't you pay attention to the whole enron scandal? that's just the tip of the iceberg. with their histories it'd be foolish to believe they're not still heavily invested in the oil business. what a strange coincidence that they want to invade a smaller country that happens to be bountiful with oil reserves.

Sure I will take your bait and "feast" as you put it.
When did something being, make somethign being right?
When you compare yourself to Cuba and Castro of course you're are gonna look good.
Shit beside Hitler I look like Jesus. Comaprison is not a justifiable form to judgement!
You wanna know where your can bitch and rip out your countries leader? I could make a list 100 countries long. You're not special.
Half did NOT vote for Bush. Less then half of those who voted did. Those who voted! ...They could pay people to vote in the USA and they wouldn't show up. No one likes the 2 choices? Two bad. Those two choice (rep and dems) have made sure it is like that. Hey, but that is the way it is and that should be defended for just being the way it is right? Shit NO!
That comedic mocking you trash on is unfortunately the best form of politcal descent in your country. Fucking why do I turn on the daily show and hear news I would here on CNN, FOX, or MSNBC? Because these are major corporations pushing an agenda and covering there asses like a prisoned homophobe. They can't rip on their best source of inside information. They also fear monger in conjuction with the government because it is profitable to the media and extremely benefitial to the president and his "burning rome" manipulation of the public. Do you know how much the media who love a war? Look how much they loved just talking about going to war.Who was the greatest benefactor of 9-11? Not Osama, the american government and the media. I am sorry to repeat this but someone hasn't caught on.
"I'd like to see you mock your leader in another country, but
then again we are "free" so that's USA-AOK.....Sigh, "
Where the hell did you get this from? Serious what compelled you to right something that is so outrageously inacurrate? There is a myriad of countries represented on this board and anyone them (that I have seen) can do just what you seem to thinkis selective to only your "free" country. That is complete bullshit.

Oddly enough, my wife is an Irish citizen living in Arizona. She's never mentioned feeling "isolated" but sometimes her outspoken views get her into trouble with friends. I don't think there is any pressure to take citizenship.
She makes a big deal of it because in the oath you must take to become a US citizen you must renounce all oaths to other foreign countries. She doesn't want to do that. Since you can have dual citizenship, we asked the INS (immigration) official how that's possible and he basically said "cross your fingers as you take the oath." That's kind of weak.
I'm an American by birth but I've lived in several foreign countries. I've been accepted/rejected by varying degrees in all of them. I never really came across any racial or nationalistic hatred, but often people said that I didn't strike them as a typical American (i.e. tourist). I have to say, though, that I was most accepted in Ireland, even before I became a naturalised citizen there.
The "isolationist" stereotype of the typical American is partially true and has some important historical context. Rather than attacking it I think it's important to try and understand it.

whats wrong with finland? in my opinion, we are doing quite well, when compared to many other. ok everything is expensive and taxes are high but as a student i really value the high social security. politics in finland are lame, so nothing really bad there either. the only REALLY bad thing about fland is the eu. but at least in finland people are quite educated, fat and safe.
there is a lot of talk about finland being the little america. maybe it is but at least we have a nice, lame president (tarja halonen) and a sheepish government.

why is finland little america.
people are as fat as in america. (almost) everyone watches alot of tv. the stereotypical finn is quite similar to the stereotypical american, just more educated.
the consuming culture is similar to america in some way.
i guess. this is harsh catecorizing and i should not be saying this.
i really do not know if this really is true, since my opinion is that finland is finland and not little america. there are just people who say so.

that has NO worth unless the action has any positive effect or positive reasoning behind it.

Lame presidents rule!!
Our scandinavian countries where built on socialism and common sence.
Peace and prosperity. Lately tho i feel it is all going to shit , capitalist right wing polititians is ruining alot.
When the state i selling out everything to private companies (often foreign) , public transportation etc our scandinavian "High standard" goes down the toilet.

I do not support big bussiness supporters and people who are prolife and pro capital punishment at the same time. if we took all the $ we use to kill people with and did some good to help the people in jail become better(some of which are completely innocent but thats a completely different issue)and get out of jail instead of killing. no one has the right to kill anyone, but bush and half of the US feels that its wrong to do abortion but ok to kill a "criminal"
