US HELP SEND HELP NOW S O S S.O.S. Ok, first let me get this straight. Bush, I don't mind him, I actually am glad we got someone with BALLS to get some real work done, instead of sitting on all this technology waiting for something to happen to us. All you people out there who hate him (including me at times), well, he IS your President, and sometimes you just have to follow that. My prime example is the show (now cancelled i beleive) on Comedy Central called "That's My Bush" where they just mock the Pres. all throughout the show. Kthx,,,I'd like to see you try doing that in Cuba. Where else could the people watch a TV show ripping on the stupidity of their very own President. Fucking pop culture, some people take things too far I feel. Bush this Bush that. STFU, 1/2 of you voted him in. You're fault (oh wait, you're prolly one of those people who "don't vote because their 1 single vote doesn't matter." kthxagain...next please. Get the fuck out then. Bush is our leader, and we should treat him with some respect. yeah, I agree with you, but I also love Amendment #1. I do feel that if people are so pissed off at the country, they should feel free to leave. Would fucking reduce traffic too. I love this country, but I don't like the idea of one party controlling the house/senate/oval office. soooooo, you take your lumps: I don't mind bush at all, he doesn't speak well, but like you said, pleasing 275 million people is hard. |

part of the beauty of america is that we can reject those who would seek to run our country. we do this through public speaking or writing or demostrations, so i have no problem with someone saying they hate bush. i hate bush. i didn't vote for him. i'm seventeen, couldn't have voted if i tried. this country is supposedly based upon a social contract that states that if we are unhappy with a ruler, we have the right to speak out against him. thats all these people are doing, no reason to kick them out of the country. |

I see what yr saying.. whether he should or shouldn't be in the office is debateable, but it's also a done deal. We should support and to some extent respect him for that. Doesn't mean we have to like him or agree with him.. but we should still be supportive. Maybe you think he's an asshole, alot of people do. I'm not a big fan myself. Still, unless he muffs up completely and becomees obviously corrupt, I think Americans should put aside their grudges and make the best of what they've got. So vote for 'Gore in 4' as they say.. but make the best of what happened, whether you like Bush or not. |

I think that some people just make fun of bush because it's cool. I don't mean anyone here tho. Coz I think he is actually being a bit stupid (but then again I'm not political minded enough to really bother taking in all the information about all this and hence don't have enough information to build a proper opinion) I think americans should give him the benefit of the doubt until he proves otherwise. I think he has probably proven otherwise, but that's only my opinion, I don't feel too strongly about it. oh yeah, wasn't this elusive's argument?? :) anyway.. You're a little out of my league now, I am not very familiar with Bush's past. I'm aware that he's had a partly shady one, though. However, what I meant was that while he's been in office, I anyway have not heard of anything to make me believe he's evil or overly corrupt. If he keeps running a reasonably clean presidency and keeps making reasonable decisions.. then I think we shouldn't hold the past against him unless there's a serious threat of it resurfacing in a way that would prove malevolent to the nation. When he starts making irresposible decisions and has kinky affairs in the oval office and starts WW3 and starts endangering the US citizens.. then let's start bitching and protesting. War on Terrorism... Bin Laden being in afghanistan, okay... But instead of sending in special units to eliminate him, afghanistan gets partially destroyed. Then, we realise the TRUE goal of this action, wiping out the Taliban. After afghanistan being demolished, the UN can once again clear up the mess america made. But wait, there's more! What I seen on CNN is that america thought Bin Laden was in IRAQ!!! What a coicidence! So the war on terrorism continues! Now a final thought: I've seen a war in yugoslavia, and in iraq (on TV thank god). But what I also see is that the US keep trying to get in war with IRAQ. In yugoslavia, they did nothing. why? OIL! thats the whole fucking issue! They want IRAQ to have a democratic government, read pro-american. |

have any of you 'mericans travelled much outside the states? Seen how other cultures statirise, make-fun-of or laugh at, their chosen governments? there is a wide and varied spectrum of ways to do it and cheap-shot, lowest common denominator humour is always the one to stir up shit. I've heard some quite sophisticated radio-satire in the states on your government that could not be argued with... MTC, Jackass type cynicism is pure crappy and only appeals to teens who don't know what the story is really. Try paying attention to some intelligent fucking debates instead of getting all annoyed at some asshole with cracker-jack jokes. Thankfully in this part of the world we have the BBC and here, some hilarious radio comedy, to challenge and amuse us in times of questionable government policy. Bring it up a notch people! |
