I dont know if BT would be considerd techno,
and I may get shot at for saying this... but
but his movement in still life specail edition was really good, and I also liked ESCM. IMA was a bit too housey for me. People would probubly call him trance.... cause of his played out track dreaming.
Anyone ever hear of the 80's band techno tronic?

Oh yes! I havent listened to him in a while. I love his stuff. Some NIN also reminds me of techno. But thats more industrial than techno I think.. his first release Pretty Hate Machine was almost like synth pop, very dark synth pop though...
