from Venice? (it's a city which is now in Italy, but was a
powerful merchant run city-state in the last millennium). In
Europe by the way.

Snares gig review by NME:

JEANS TEAM/ VENETIAN SNARES
London Camden Monarch

Venetian Snares is to Music what Satan is to Christianity: a
profoundly malevolent force who looks great, intimidates a
lot of boring people and is, despite everything, insanely
popular.
A six-foot-plus mutant with a flowing Gandalf beard, the
prolific Winnipeg native (real name, marvellously, Aaron
Funk) concocts a deliriously abrasive style of psychedelic
computer-speedcore-goth-metalfree-jazz-techno that incites
the gaggle of bare-chested Funk fetishists at the front to
jitter'n'twitch like they're being willingly brutalised by
high-voltage cattle prods.
Soon to release his third album this tear ("Winter In The
Belly Of A Snake"), Snares calmly spins disc after disc
ofslamming digital terror. His is sublime audio carnage, a
deft, dynamic mix that vomits forth a glorious noise which
instantly unites Aphex Twin, Squarepusher, Kid606 and
avantgarde deity Stockhausen yet manages to sound furiously
restlessly unique.
Pity poor Jeans Team, then, the Berlin quintet who have
the unenviable task of following Snares with a set of cute
electro-pop that, while it's fun to watch them goof around
and swap instruments, betrays their limited stylistic range.
It's like experiencing The Empire Strikes Back on 3D IMAX on
LSD then squinting at an ancient silent film clip on a
three-inch TV screen.
Satan rules, but you already knew that.

Piers Martin

Can anybody recommend my next vsnares purchase. I have
printf, which I founf overly long and a little dated in
terms of sound. I also have Doll doll doll, which kicks
ass.

Should I get:
Higgins...
2370894
Making orange things
Songs about my cats?

I'd like to get shitfuckers, but can't find it anywhere in
UK shops (or online ones)... well, not at a reasonable price
anyway.

Isn't it anything associated with venice?

Like you'd say Parisian Coffee/Parisian Cafe Culture?

BTW A mate's venetian blinds inspired a design that got me
and a group of other students a commendation for innovation
at the Young Engineers awards a few years ago...

My gf associates Venice with nuns & the foul smell of the
waterways. I have never been there so I don't really have an
opinion. I likem the architecture I saw in my parents'
holiday snaps from there though...
