How pointless can a website be?

They have a good argument. How insensitive can you be?

I don't think they do. How long ago was this book written?

Should have explained why not really. OK:
The Spider-man argument made sense. I agree with that.
Actually seeing the towers would possiblt bring back bad
memories, the renaming of a classic novel to me just seems
ludicrous. Removing images of the Towers from every film
seems ridiculous. It's like they're trying to say it didn't
exist. You can buy postcards, in New York, that have the
plane hitting the tower! That's insensitive in my opinion. I
can't understand why renaming the film would make a
difference. If they did there'd be a fuss and everyone knows
the name already.

hahaha!
for fucks sake, get over it.

more africans die of aids every single day than the few ppl
that died when those towers fell.

what the fuck else are they suppose to call it? thats what
the fucking book is called!

argh. silly ppl!

oh come on jonesy. what they want is plain old censorship,
and that's bad. do they also want to rename the book as
well? or maybe remove every reference to any two towers in
every book, film, cd etc.?

I think the question should be:
how paranoid can you be?
"The movie is intentionally being named The Two Towers in
order to capitalize on the tragedy of September 11. Clearly,
you cannot deny the fact that this falls under hate
speech.
"
right.

Yep, obviously Tolkien was a visonary far in advance of
Nostradamus etc. and hinted at the tradgey by nameing his
book the twin towers years ago... ;)

Why are people so bloody sensative?
Personally I think changing the name & the whole furore
relating to it would be more insensitive and stir up more
bad memories :)

humanity.

They should also change that film Towering Inferno with
Steve McQueen and Paul Newman. Its even more insensitive.

I think each of you should e-mail
twotowersprotest@twotowersprotest.org and have your say why
you think it's a stupid idea. Jonesy could just have fun
fucking with their heads I'd bet too. If we get any replies
we could post them here.

They must get loads of e-mails though. I bet there's a stock
reply about hating Americans and being a Nazi or something.
The best website to e-mail is the KKK one. Tell them you
want to join but that they're racist for not allowing
english people to join. The replies you get are hilarious.

They'll be selling T-Shirts soon. Or a DVD with commentary
by Steve Guttenbur or Brian Dennehey. Official pieces of
rubble to buy etc. You pay extra for bloodstains. They
really could be that hypocritical.

I said that before...call it the
TWO UNMENTIONABLES and by the same logic
the Sears Tower would become the Sears UNMENTIONALBLE and
the Eifel Tower shall be Eifel UNMENTIONABLE etc etc...

all the phallic allegories can hence forth safely be applied
in security of this consequence:)

crumble

Allah is often refered to as, "He who cannot be seen". Due
to the censorship around the twin towers it was cut from a
load of games/films- we're not allowed to see it. The fact
that it was destroyed by islamic fundamentalists (or at lest
the popularist press would have us believe) further
compounds the hilarity...

this is sad, you're petitioning to remove free speech, and
think the government should censor what we say. Easily the
