I had an idea a few years ago like this. I thought graphic packages etc. could integrate into your OS by adding "rooms" plugins would be objects with the house. Files (depending on the type) could be books/sheets of paper/canvases etc. |

I know. I abandoned the idea because whilst it would be more intuitive/novel/pretty I think it wouldn't be as productive as a standard GUI... I do like the idea of rooms with all your software of that type there though. You could go in the music room and use all the different things, like having re-wire built into the OS... Imagine, you would have re-birth as a little stack of 303s etc. midi as a grand piano... When they finally get VR usable this'll be the way forward. |

It's an old idea. I don't think it will be a hit without true 3D VR. I've tried a VR-kit but that was over 7 years ago, it was still pretty cool. |

Weird, I had a dream that I had some program that was like a video game... a huge mansion, and each room was a ''program''... this big dining room was my Winamp folder. :-) You use the mouse to guide yourself around this house and different rooms are different things. There was even a dungeon for my great collection of porn! :-D |
