used to warez, don't bother anymore
you just need to be able to extract the many files that you d/l, but WinRAR does the the trick.
From there, you can usually just run an .exe, or with an ISO, copy a folder over another and open the crack.exe file or so and off you are
I don't think that made any sense

Mostly, I've come across .ISO or .BIN Images which are used for CD Writing programs... So you have to burn it onto CD for it to run.
For PC games, If your talking about Warez, they usually come in a ZIP(s), a series of RAR files or a plain old EXE Setup file.

True, but I was thinking more of PS2 games...

I still want a complete mame set for PC :(
My DC one is in the post, but I don't think that contains all the marquees etc...
GBA games are getting increasingly hard to find- I remember getting an emulator & all the release games in a matter of hours 2 weeks before the japanese release :)
It also helped me choose which games I wanted to pre-order with my gba...

MAME ruled when I could find games for it. Is there anything around that rivals Mame.dk for all-round aceness?

I got Warcraft 3 and Max Payne. Max Payne took a shit on me 3/4 of the way through the game. Warcraft has no cut scenes or an ending. :P
