Microsoft was dropped by Dell as their 'software-merchant'
(just got up, can't think of words..) weren't they..?

they're going for WordPerfect instead of Word, I believe..

i'll second that uzim.
I'm actually starting a part-time job in a week or so for a
mac dealer (dunno what it entails yet) and they said i could
do it from home. Yay more money for more records!

Oh and fuck Microsoft!

Anyone who has to work in small-medium sized business
depends on Microsoft. Who else could I turn to?

For office software

Openoffice - right where's the support if something goes
wrong?

Staroffice - uh, no thanks. Again cross compatability makes
it tricky

OS

Apple - no beef with OS10 but am I really going to go out
and buy an Apple just b/c MS pisses me off every now and
then? The answer is no.

Linux - I've installed Redhat and Mandrake and I think what
they're doing is great. But it's damn annoying to have to
spend time setting up every last device when Win2k does
everything automagically.

I don't love MS, but realistically where is there to turn?

Every OS Sucks.
You could go back to DOS.

there iz no "they're" and hence there iz no "them" - that's
what's so great.

StarOffice = OpenOffice + some licensed bits like the
database engine and thesaurus + support.

Kind of scary that Microsoft and Starbucks are affliate
corporations... done a few projects and advertising
campaigns together, as I recall.
