enta omri is by umm kalthum who is a very famous and legendary singer in egypt, she's dead though..
and this music is not egyptian belly dancing music as much as just egyptian music that you can belly dance to

you're right, it's not written with that purpose in mind. as for enta omri, the writing credit goes to hossam ramzy so kalthum must have covered it. the recording i have is by hossam ramzy & his egytpian orchestra and it sounds pretty old (it's also intrumental).

i'd rather watch belly danceing than hearing it and you have to be in the mood for it..lots of drinks too it is very fascinating especialy if you watch the original middle easetern one ...not that fake western copy

We have a colonialist history with this part of the world. By the way the Egyptian girls and the magrehbian girls (magrehb = morocco + algeria + tunisia) are the most beautiful thinks in the world (IMO). With a lot of character too ; bewre the fire in their eyes , keep focused on the belly.
