This label for serious fans has been used in various reviews for aphex, quarepusher etc and it´s an interesting facet of the music lover, i think.
"the Completist" the music collector who must have ALL releases official and more-often-than-not unofficial, from a particualr artist. It seems to me to be a sort of weakness on the part of said collector... a kind of unintelligent, groping kind of addiction that says "fuck what i actually think of the release... i need it".
Hands up who IS one? I´m not really, but i think i do understand the nature of one.

I can't say I am but I can't say I'm not. I wouldn't put myself into debt to have everything by an artist or pay over the odds for a rare item, but I do like to have the full collections of things. I like to know that I can't have anything more. That said. I wouldn't buy three different versions of the same thing just to say I have every version.

I've bought stuff I ahven't heard, purerly because it's Aphex twin, but I've only once been disappointed (V/VM bootlegs). I didn't want to go away, check it out on the net, go back next week and then for it to be gone...

I just wanted a better number than 540. I wanted 69, 666, 99 or 1000.

I have indulged in this kind of fetishism but its rather sad and immature. I have a mate who wastes money on albums, on which are songs he already has, just to have it. He's a record company director's wet dream.

personally i´f love to own everything Squarepusher has deamed worthy of release. I suppose completists range from-wanting everything to just say, the vinyls. I´d love all RDJ´s live shows alright, don´t care what format.
Junktion - Wrestling?.. Cumberland wrestling perhaps?

I don't do that- unless there's 10 tracks I don't have already and one I do. Mind you, I don't buy many CDs anymore...

I only buy stuff if i like it, theres so much crap out there i think you have to be a little picky about what you buy, otherwise it's like keyfumbler said - just a blind addiction to music.
