The Last Knobject Track

for now...

it's called

The Lost Meow
here
http://www.zebox.com/knobject

the style is click techno, my not so secret obsession
inspired by the likes of Cristian Vogel, Herbert, Two Lone
Swordsmen etc...

this song is like a preview of things to come..my next
project on Zebox is called

Spiny Murex

http://www.zebox.com/SpinyMurex

I am in the process of uploading an older glitchy click
techno track there..as basically a marker...that track is
new to all of you though..as I have never spammed for
it..it's called

Blue Apples..

and it should be available in about half an hour

Spiny Murex will be concentrating on this glitchy click
techno style..so what's new..hmm..I am basically giving
Drill stuff a rest..as well as the overtly formless and
abstract stuff....

for now...

just about every time I hear one of your tracks for the
first time, I'm completely blown away in the first 30
seconds or so... holy crap... but it almost always gets
looped into that one idea longer than I think it should. If
you somehow mutated it every 30 seconds or so into something
completely different, that would be about as awesome as a
friggin lazer.

hmm that 30 second barrier..hmmm

i would suggest skipping this track then..it might end up
annoying you

sorry I already listened, THAT was my feedback. AND IT'S ALL
YOU'RE GETTING!

and also you're starting to make sounds and structures that
would baffle me if I tried to make them.

hmm..

I thought this was the least baffling of knobject
tracks..hmmm

I didn't mean starting exactly at this track, lots of your
recent creations. I'll stop talking now for the sake of this
thread's future readability, I have nothing to say that
isn't flatulent

No more Knobject? I liked the name. : \

Well, I guess it's okay... I'm getting the track now. :)

I will get tunes from you new project as well, and I'll also
comment on the other Knobject tracks. Sorry I haven't, I've
been a bit busy lately. :)

not having listened to these your latest tracks yet, i must
agree with the poshnu inhabitant that your tracks either
last a minute or 2 too long or lack a certain surprise
turnaround. i mentioned that before, i think.

doesn't mean i'm not always astounded by them :D your new
project sounds pretentious, but interesting

kidding, lol

it's just for now...knobject is a big part of my plans..I
will try and create an mp3.com and upload the whole lot of
the ones I kept having to delete...when I have the patience
to upload about 20 tracks at 56k:)

Sounds good to me :D

Really like the sounds you're using on The Last Meow. Wish
it was a bit longer though :(

hey Netlon...
hmm..these last two tracks ("goofproof "and "the lost meow")
are clocking in at 1:58 and 2:03, of this lenght because I
took the suggestions all of you gave on board...if they are
still about a minute or two too long..then..hmm.........:)

okay..I kinda like the groves that are going on..I can play
around a bit more in that atmosphere...

you heard goofproof yet?..I think you will like that one:)

offline Clic on 2002-10-22 03:45 [#00412521]

Yeah, I'm diggin' that one too. It's got a kind of ep7 vibe
almost, with the random synth part that floats around all
warbly-like. Well, in my opinion and all.

But yeah, the sounds in Meow are very nice. Clicky and
bouncy... almost funky, heh. I like it quite a bit. You're
progressing very well in your production skills. I'm not an
authority or anything, but I just think it sounds good.

I like playing goofproof and the lost meow back to back.
Goofproof ends so snappy, it just carries right over into
meow -- almost in rhythm. I dunno, it's neat. :)

thanks clic..yeah the last meow is supposed to be
funky...read the inpirations I listed in the initial
post....all masters of funk...I was kinda worried that the
funk wont come across that rhythms werea bit too
cluttered..but cool..thanks:)

yeah it's a Spiny Murex...they are native to NZ..it's my
kinda patriotic spell:) cool that you spotted it..:)

cool..

Netlon yeah let me know what you think:)

hmmm goofproof is a bit too pointy and chaotic for me

but the last meow is nice. i hope the title doesn't refer to
the cat that was tortured to death by that insane japanese
fucker a couple of days ago :(- he got only 6 months.... i
think he should be put to death himself }:(

anyway. i dunno about funky.. but i picture small creatures
hopping their way through life :) i'd say there's still a
bit of drill there, all of the drum patterns fit together
really well. you could've hidden the steady beat, though...
looking fwd to yer next project!

thanks netlon..
no the title refers to the bass sound (just listen to
it)..and the fact that The Last meow is..a farwell...of
sorts..last ditch effort:)

listened to the Last Meeow - very nice! I agree with Clic -
its too short..! I thought I got only half of the mp3 or
something. which brings me to your most prevalent problem
(alliterate me!): your endings. you always kind of chop off
the track, which does work, but not on every track.

that said, I do think if you make LM longer, there should be
more variation.

just listened to "goofproof" - not as good. it sounds good,
everythings in place, just not much happening.. reminds me a
LOT of EP7..( which is a compliment, I would think). again,
the ending..

you really are getting better and better.

You make fucking good music. It's gotten too hard to pretend
to find flaws in it anymore. I'm going to pass you as my
next kidney stone to show my appreciation.
